TL;DR We had THE BEST experience!
My fiancée and I were looking for a place to have lunch. After leaving two different restaurants that had issues accepting us during the afternoon siesta hours, we arrived at Sabores e Memórias.
We were welcomed with open arms and a huge smile that we will never forget. The design of the restaurant is fabulous—every detail is well thought out. From the plates to the tables and decorations, not a single piece is misplaced.
About the food We ordered 1 sharable entrée, two main dishes (pasta and bacalhau à brás), two desserts, and a glass of white wine each. After progressing with the meal, we decided to order another glass of wine. The owner came back with the bottle of wine he opened for us and explained that it would be better if we took the whole bottle because it was cheaper and made more sense. We obviously agreed! :)
We enjoyed everything. The food was tasty. The design is impressive—even the espresso cups match the restaurant’s set.
And the best part? The owners and staff. They recommended dishes for us to try, adjusted the dessert especially for us (I like chocolate, so they melted chocolate on a cake just for me! Yay!). They even argued about the tip, saying it was too much. I don’t remember if or when that has ever happened to me. Ever.
The restaurant has its own parking. You just have to pay attention to the gate when coming from the road, or you might miss it. Don’t. I promise you will...
Read moreRead moreWe were really excited to try this place but it was a terrible disappointment and masterclass in bad service. If you want to wait 25 min for your order to be taken when the restaurant is empty, and then deal with a man with no manners (probably a mysogynist who likes to tell women what to do), then this might be the place for you. We booked a table for 8.30pm and got there on time. There were only 3 tables with customers and three staff covering just the three tables. They threw us a menu and did not come for 25 min (!!!) to even check and take an order and kept focusing on the other tables and taking extra orders for them even though we had done nothing wrong and we were all smiles and lovely to them. When I finally called one of the people in charge and said "hey by the way, no one has come tk check in for 25 min" he shushed me and then proceeded to welcome other guests to fill other tables. We stood up and said we are leaving and he said "sit down" (no, not kidding) and started heading for the kitchen, at which point we just left. The menu did not look impressive anyway, in case you can get over the rudeness and incompetence...
Amazing!!! This place is truly where memories and taste come together.
We arrived at this restaurant after struggling to find a place for lunch, and Sabores e Memórias turned out to be a gem! 💎
Everything was splendid. We were greeted with a warm smile and such genuine care 🫶. We ordered an entrée, two main dishes, a bottle of wine, and stayed for coffee and dessert (each! Joey doesn’t share food).
While waiting for our food, we were amazed by how well-designed the place was. It’s rare to find such a cozy and stylish interior in this area.
Every bite was PERFECTO! We even tried the homemade bread and pumpkin jam ❤️.
We didn’t even take many photos, as we were too busy having an amazing time. We’ll...
