Restaurante 100 Temperos — Restaurant in Faro

A jewel of a restaurant close to the Faro University and main hospital very recommendable. You can park in the shopping precinct 2 minutes’ walk away but look on Google as it is easy to drive past. Luckily, we arrived early which was good as the place was soon almost full to capacity with local Portuguese families, always a good sign.

We are a group of 8 who enjoy eating out together at regular intervals trying various restaurants in the Faro, Loule area. For Sunday lunch we had a selection of the various dishes. My Garlic prawns were excellent as were the rest of the starters, but the star was the sea bream ceviche, the ladies raved about it, fresh, tasty and by itself worthy of a return trip to the restaurant.

My steak was nicely cook and juicy, crispy fries and a small side salad, the mussels, the fish burger and the Black Angus burgers all very good. One serving of Picanha was tough, but it was replaced quickly and with a smile. The deserts were well received, I had coconut ice cream and would certainly have it again. We are, I admit, a group who enjoys more than one glass of wine with our meal and despite polishing off several bottles plus a few extra glasses the final bill was a modest €22.50 each. I should also add that the place was clean, the staff were, friendly, attentive, and one ladies English was faultless. I had a lunch for 4 people here. Sadly, the food was just average. The restaurant was empty, but we wanted to give it a try, since they had opened recently. The calamares (starter) are frozen and not great (honestly shouldn’t be on the menu). We also ordered fish, which wasn’t fresh. The steak was ok. On the other hand, the salad was really really good, with fresh ingredients and very tasty (not the one shown on the photo). The decor was nice and the waitresses are kind. Tldr: Awesome Place !! Food is great, Ambient feels cozy and the service is attentive.

We went there to have lunch for two and it was great. By chance we decided to try this place and I was really surprised by how good it was. I recommend getting the big jar of juice. We had the pineapple lemon juice and it was delicious. Really refreshing. The food was just as delicious. All the while the waiters where really attentive and always checking on us without being too pushy.
