I write to you whilst sitting here, waiting for the food to arrive. I'm already mouthwatering, because I know it's going to be amazing, as always!
This is one of those places I never miss when I'm around. Simple, honest and extraordinary food. Fresh local produce, starting from the bread, to every item on the menu, it's their secret. Grilled to perfection meat and fish, yummy rice dishes and cataplanas, and amazing seafood. And portions are generous enough to share.
If you like caracóis (snails), this is a great place too.
It's a very homey, typical country small town restaurant. The staff is really welcoming and friendly.
I feel that I must advise, service might be delayed during high season. Please be patient...

I'm coming since 15 years to Melides and quinta de lorenço was never known as a stable quality restaurant. But tonight I was shocked. We were there with 10 people and ALL the portions were super super small very bad presentation of the food (could have been done by a 3 year old) no taste the fruits were overripe super expensive for this small portions after telling that the portions were super small no reaction from the kitchen no vegetarian alternative and after asking they did a omlette of 3/4 eggs, no salt, no vegetables for 10 euros???
I gave quinta de lorenço over the last 15 years many chances....but tonight was the last one....
Read moreTerrible place. I am Portuguese and I can guarantee this is one of the worst food I’ve ever had. The secretos were clearly reheated, when they are supposed to be grilled immediately before serving. The fries were soaked in oil and the rice was also reheated. Not a single leaf of lettuce or a slice of onion in sight. Extremely overpriced for the place, the food and the service. I would strongly advice against this place if you’re pregnant, as the food wasn’t fresh. You will get better Portuguese food at a gas station, for sure.
Em bom...
