Imagine you're lost somewhere in the north of Portugal. It's late at night, it's a day of fasting and you're starving. Suddenly, you follow the sounds of local fans watching their football team on TV, come across what seems to be the local tavern in a secluded spot and decide to take your chances, to then have your needs catered to by the owner, who sympathetically orders the kitchen to improvise some rice and beans with fish that had been the day's appetizer.

Honestly, that improvised dish tasted better than many a gourmet pescatarian meal. Along with the amazingly attentive service from the owner and the authentic, but still welcoming atmosphere, this was a delightful surprise. Definitely...
