Pito Dourado Restaurante — Restaurant in Idanha-a-Nova

This used to be my favourite pizza takeaway/restaurant in the area and I’ve taken many friends and groups there for birthdays etc over the years, but for some reason the pizza quality has dropped this year. The base just doesn’t seam to cook properly. It’s soft and very floppy. Toppings just slide off leaving a slightly uncooked base. I even asked for the last one to have extra time cooking, but sadly the base was still dough like but now the cheese was over cooked. The chicken and other dishes look great but only 2/3 Vegi pizza options. I’ve been going for over 4 years but somethings changed. Sadly now if you try to dine alone, you get stuck on the tiny table, in the corner, under the air con unit. Even when the entire restaurant is empty. I was only allowed to sit “in the good seats” if I promised to move if the restaurant suddenly became full and the tables were needed for families and groups ! If your looking for a chicken meal with friends or family then this is a nice place to try. I’m gutted really as I liked going to this family run takeaway. It’s gone from 10/10 to 5/10...

This restaurant is but a stone’s throw away from my place but it was my first time to order, upon a friend’s recommendation. We ordered chicken piripiri and crushed roasted potatoes. Now I know where I’m getting my chicken piripiri from. It’s well-seasoned and cooked, with crunchy skin. The sauce is lovely. The potatoes, as well, were done well, with a hint of vinegar in it. We ate here twice while staying in Orca. First time we had the pizza and it was great, second time we got the split chicken and smashed potatoes which was the best meal we have had yet. The owner is a really nice guy and speaks a little English which was very helpful since we don't speak portuguese. We definitely recommend...
