Brunch & Wine — Restaurant in Lagoa

This place was single-handedly the best meal I had in Portugal to date, and we plan to visit again.

FOOD/WINE The menu came and we wanted to literally order everything on the menu. Thankfully, Nuno (more on him later) gave us some great recommendations. WINE: We asked for a red wine without really looking. He brought us a fantastic wine that was lovely, well-valued and ensured we ordered a second glass. ​ -DISHES: We got many dishes (too many, but no regrets). All dishes were good, and some were phenomenal, so you won't go wrong. We had the Stuffed Mushrooms, Octopus Salad, Chicken Wings, Bucho Especial, and Taco de Vaca, shrimp dumplings. Our Favorites: Taco de Vaca, Stuffed Mushroom, and Bucho Especial(GET THIS ONE).

SERVICE/ATMOSPHERE (though Family would be better description) This place screams charm, homeyness and warmth. The decor is beautiful and layout is cozy but spacious enough to allow people to talk easily. However the real star of the place is the family who runs it, Nuno (host), Daniela (Wife/Chef) and Olga (Matron/Chef/mother), and their father who is the subtle sommelier. The whole family came to say hi and welcome us, talk to us, and just feel like part of their family. It's 3rd generation place (Nuno's grandfather was baker, father was wine dealer, and he/wife are chefs/owners).

At the end, Nuno even told us what wine we had and offered us card that allow us to know which vineyard it was and also gave us special treatment by mentioning his name at the tour of Quinta.

Honestly, go here and you wont' be disappointed.

First of all, I hardly ever write reviews but I had no choice but to write one after visiting this restaurant today. After visiting the Carvoeiro boardwalk, we were recommended by a local friend to dine at Brunch & Wine and it did not disappoint one bit. EVERYTHING WE ORDERED WAS DELICIOUS!!! I first ordered an Iced Matcha Latte which was expertly made and very tasty. To my surprise, they added a touch of honey for sweetness and it was a great way to start my meal. I would order it again without hesitation. We then ordered the Caesar Salad, Portuguese Sausage, Stuffed Mushrooms, Chicken Wings and Chicken Tacos. EVERY dish was fresh, beautifully presented with an attention to detail and perfectly seasoned. If I lived in the neighborhood, I would most definitely be a regular at this establishment. The owner and chef (husband & wife) are extremely kind while giving the most excellent customer service one could expect. Better than most Michelin restaurants I've dined at in Lisbon. Please stop reading this review and do yourself a favor and dine at this establishment..even if it's out of the way. Work your itinerary around this restaurant! I guarantee that you will not regret it. A perfect 10/10. Bonus: They have a well curated selection of high quality products to purchase on both sides of the wall.
