ESPLANADA DA AMA — Restaurant in Leiria

We went several times to this place as we had friends staying at the beach and it was a practical place for them to eat. The food is at the same standards as most restaurants. But the service is awful. On all occasions it would take 1 hour to be served a drink and up to 3 hours to be served dinner. On our last night our 3 children (teenagers) had a separate table from us- I had to remind 3 times to the waitress to serve them. It took 1 hour for them to get drinks then over 1 hour to get their burger and chips. Meanwhile I had a chat with the boss about their service. He did not care at all. It was shoking! They do not understand that a good service is an important thing in this business. This place is about getting as many customers as they can through the door. I was taken to this restaurant by my friend for a special pre-wedding,🎉 pre 60th Birthday treat. We have dined here many many times, since we both moved here to Portugal nearly 3 years ago. Its always been one of our favourite restaurants, where we meet, as we live a fare distance from one another. The food was of good standard, however, we were left very upset at the rushed service and continual interruption whilst eating. When we declined their offer of a desert, despite still having wine in our bottle to finish, and with plans to order more, we were asked to vacate the table and were told, people were waiting for our table, whilst other tables lay empty. Today I took a friend to lunch we arrived at 12noon ordered our starters which was ok before we had finished we were given our main meal!The whole service was rushed and the waiters were continually hovering and rushing us!Then when we said no to dessert we were asked to leave the table as someone wanted to sit there!!even though there were plenty of empty tables.I dont think I shall go back to this place even though I have spent plenty of money in the past.I have never in my time in Portugal been asked to leave a table.New Restaurant but not good service☹and as an update we were still drinking our wine when...
