We were warmly welcomed to this typically Portuguese restaurant and had a delicious meal here this evening! The bacalhau with asparagus and gratin topping was excellent and went perfectly with creamed spinach, roasted potatoes and sweet potatoes plus salad. The clams in lemon, garlic and olive oil starter were exceptionally good, as was the Angus steak. So many delicious flavours (chestnut and potato purée !) and everything beautifully prepared and tastefully presented; portions are large but so tasty. There’s also a selection of wines - the white and red ones from Alentejo are very good. Altogether the best meal we’ve enjoyed in Portugal so far (we’ve been here 10 days and eaten well) and very highly recommended. Thanks to the lovely owners and staff who made our evening...
Read moreAs a couple we dined here 3x in 1 week. Outstanding food, marvellous and attentive service. Headed by a husband- chef- & wife team - front of house- my wife's squid was the best she's ever had, and was closely followed by the black Angus steaks and my tuna steak over our 3 visits. From The saxophone on the bar, to the rustic interior. Table 7 was our fav. You can sample the delicious food. Check out the 2 types of butter on the covert and after the meal a choice of cherry and pennyroyale- mint- liquor is served with a finger of home made cinnamon cake. Better than many 5 star restaurants a true find. Enjoy relax and the wines are...

This place would be perfect for a wintery day to get warm although we love it for summer too. Staff take good care of...
