Me and my friend went to this place after a day at the beach. Feeling inspired by the ocean we both ordered fish. I ordered the battered scabbard fish and she ordered fish of the day

I was hoping for the battered scabbered fish to be crispy, in the end the only cracking I heard was my heart. The fish was limp and was lacking taste, with the service being a bit slow.

My friend ordered the fish of the day. They should rename it to “fish of yesterday” because that’s what it tasted like. It was overdone and was lacking taste. However, the side dish of potatoes and the overall presentation of both dishes were nice.

Overall I’d say the best part about our meal was that we were able to watch the football in the restaurant. However in terms of the food, not even Cristiano Ronaldo would be able to...

We only ended up here because the restaurant we had originally chosen was closed that day. What a happy coincidence, since this is a truly lovely place! The lighting might be a bit more cozy that it is, but everything else is as pleasant as it can get. Service was very friendly and took care of us at all times. The red wine by the glass is great, as was the fish soup that we shared as a starter. After that, pasta and grilled fish were each expertly prepared and served promptly. The meal was finished by dessert from the separate dessert menu - Ferrero Rocher pudding as well as Tiramisu were a highlight and should not be skipped. This is in the pricier region for Machico, but it is very worth it....
