Came here for lunch after Sao Lorenco hike.

Google says they open at 11 but kitchen only opened around 12.

Got Sidra apple cider, which was nice and cool and came with a slice of apple. My new favorite cider as I like it sweet and the ice always makes it refreshing. If you want alcoholic apple juice, get some.

Got the chicharros fritos, which is fried mackerel which you eat from head to tail, including bones. Was good value, but a bit much of just fried fish for 1 person. Would be nice to pair with a sauce but don't think that's common on Madeira.

Also got the half portion of octopus in stew sauce. The octopus was cooked well, there was some grit in some of the pieces but nothing too crazy. The stew sauce seemed to me to be ketchup based or ... something. I was looking for something a bit more refined I guess and this seems like something a kid would enjoy more.

The fries were good and half portion is a good size for a normal, non-binge-eating human.

Would prefer if the menu was in both Portuguese and English, as I like to know and learn the original name instead of just the weirdly translated...
