They open at 12 noon Delicious garlic prawns and beef skewer (espetada) with massive portions. We over ordered for two people for sure, wish I got a photo of the prawns because they were absolutely delicious. And the price was extremely reasonable. If you order rice make sure you choose 1/2 dose unless you have 3-4 people. It was a LOT of rice. The place was jam packed with locals on the weekend, which is how you can tell it was good. The entire staff was very kind. Our waiter saw we were tourists and brought us some ginja, locally made Machico cherry liqueur to try on the house. It was a very relaxing vibe between our two hikes The restaurant is on a hill overlooking Machico, which is a super cute town close to the PR 8 sao lorenço and vereda do larano Hikes.

Had the spareribs which had very little meat on them and the meat came of very difficult, taste was okay. Staff seemed to be a bit grumpy but that could've been due to the language barrier. Furthermore it was not busy when we were there and there was no background music or whatever so the atmosphere was a bit low. Restaurant itself was clean tho, that's a plus.

O Forno might not be fancy, but it's undeniably authentic, delicious, and brimming with local charm. The perfectly grilled espetada, coupled with the warm service and inviting atmosphere, make it a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of true Madeiran tradition. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple yet unforgettable dining experience!

This was by far the worst and most expensive food we ate during our 10 day holiday in Madeira. The swordfish and potatoes were cold and way to salty and the tuna looked like it came straight out of a can from the supermarket. We got some garlic bread witch we didn't order. We thought it was a free gift so we ate it. When we got the bill it costed 6 euro. You can get a good garlic bread in any restaurant in madeira for half that price. The restaurant itself was also not cozy at all. They probably just wanted to make advantage of us just because we were tourists, knowing we would only...

Local restaurant. I realised the garlic bread they brought it just with butter. The espetada ( the traditional meat in the stick) wasnt well marinated it lacked salt at the bottom so you could feel just meat and taste of coal. The wine was good. The patato fries get respect because were handmade. But for the rest I wouldnt recommend. I went to another restaurant and realised espescially the garlic bread and espetada is super good in the...
