The food here is always excepcional, We found this quaint little restaraunt a few years ago with our friends and make it a point to visit once a year when we visit. There fish and seafood dishes are superb as well as their meat dishes. My boys had the famous " Manjar do Janeca" a well seasoned dish with pork, clams and shrimp served with fries and I had the shrimp bean stew I could not put it down. My husband had the octopus and my brother tried there hiuse bacalhau, he liked it so much I could not even get a picture .... lol.. The deserts are also delicious and a great variety made fresh daily. The prices for the quantity and quality of the food is very good. The staff is very nice and accomodating as is the owner. You will not be dissapointed

If you’re near Nazaré and are looking for amazing home-cooked food at very reasonable prices, look no further. There’s a reason why there’s always a line outside, even during the week off-season. Their menu is quite simple but every item is carefully prepared, fresh and very tasty. And then there’s dessert. Their fridge full of mouthwatering home-made desserts is a perfect reminder that you have to leave room for dessert. This was definitely our favorite dining venue while we stayed in the area. Try it!

It is a very local spot with an authentic Portuguese atmosphere. The staff is friendly, though no English is spoken, which adds to the charm. The food is decent - traditional Portuguese dishes with a homemade feel. The fish was okay, but the caramel dessert was a highlight. A good place to try if you want a true local experience of home made Portuguese food.

Used to be really good here. Not anymore! Visited in June 2023 & we forgave the bad experience & service putting it down to the start of the busy summer season. Stayed away for the summer and decided to try again on 5th December 2023. Even worse experience! Waited for service (a little longer than usual) so didnt touch the starters on table until we were guaranteed of our order being taken. 2 bitoques and a half litre of wine. The bitoques were LISTED on the blackboard menu, it was a Tuesday lunchtime just gone 12 o´clock, so no excuse of having unexpectedly run out. Waiter took our order, brought wine to table and we proceeded with wine and starters (bread). Wed sent the olives back asking for butter instead. Halfway through starters, the waiter reappeared and told us they didnt have any bitoques, offered us chicken or bacalhau instead. We didnt want either of those as we came especially for the bitoques what we`ve eaten here for years. No apology from the staff. No compensation. Paid 3 euros for half litre of wine, 1.30 euros for small pieces of bread and 2 euros for 2 miniscule cartons of butter (after returning the untouched olives). 6.30 euros total for a wasted trip as no...

BEST MEAL OF MY LIFE! This is exactly what I imagined of a local Portuguese restaurant! Right down to the red and white checkered tablecloths! Every single thing we ordered was amazing! THE OCTOPUS was insanely tender! Clams- so fresh & flavourful! Fresh cheese, delicious house made sausage….and a dessert I can still taste✨ I will remember this meal for the rest of my life!!! It was so delicious and so full of love! Lisbon’s best restaurants can’t even compare. When the cheque came, we couldn’t even believe it! 60 euros and covered 2 apps, 2 entrées and dessert plus a litre of sangria and a small glass of ginga! Come and dine and though you’ll leave in body- you’l never leave in...
