A Barca Tranquitanas — Restaurant in Odemira

I am very very seldom moved to write a review but this has to be an exception. Do not be misled by the fact that this great, good-value restaurant is disguised as a corrugated iron shack at a road junction. The ambiance is relaxed, simple but sophisticated, the staff unhurried, friendly but efficient, the wine list intelligent but not excessive. And the food was magnificent in its faultless simplicity. I had fish soup followed by grilled cuttlefish with clams and garlic, served with a well-recommended wine. I will come back for certain. We’ve been to all top rated restaurants in the area but this one is really special and the one where you want to come back again and again. Lovely food, lovely stuff, amazing view, fair prices. They let us in and made food for us when we arrived after closing hours and were desperate to eat. They are the only ones who serve lunch after 16 and don’t send you away like other places.
