I've frequented this establishment more than once and I have found consistency to everything they do and that keeps me coming back.
Starting with the service it is one of a kind, staff are always cheerful and will engage with you every time they can.
The food is good in general although they do have their specialities, like the "cabidela" which stand out in relation to the more normal dishes.
If you are the kind of person that loves a great glass of wine you are in for a treat! Their wine cellar and their wine pairing is just out of this world and the prices charged for the wine aren't that prohibitive seen that they carry mostly high end products.
On a less positive side I recommend that you be sure of what you want seen that they will bring you things for you to nibble on before the main dish without you asking for them. And the same applies to dessert.
As a conclusion I generally have a very good experience and I do recommend you visit this establishment...
Read moreIn a suburban area in a typical shop with a discrete entrance next to the outdoor smoking sofa area, you find this unusually good small restaurant with traditional Portuguese food. We were a couple for lunch during the week without reservation and were received with a smile and fast remark about the last table in a full restaurant was indeed reserved for us. We had their 2 freely served fried starters, 2 half portions of their daily menus (enough for 4) which were a very tasty boar pasta and a good Cozido a Portuguesa; we shared a wonderful dessert with half a bottle of house Alentejo red wine, waters and coffees for €50 incl tip, which is a very good value/price relation. We will for sure be back with more time and without the car, because they have one of the absolutely best fine & rare Portuguese...
Read moreWe paid over a €100 for 2 adults and a child, for the worst parts of meat of the animal… ox tail and cabrito. The service was quick but the price was more than exaggerated. €4 for a can of coke in these areas is ridiculous. €6 for a Farofia dessert (Lisbon: €1) is also way out of line. €6 for a ‘salad’ (lettuce, some tomato and oignon) is plainly a rip off, as this should’ve been part of the dish. Also €25 for white wine is astronomical in this area. The food was well cooked but the bill was overcooked. Better go to BOH grill in the same area, you’ll be served with top of the range meat, good service and a price...
