What a bit of serendipity! Our Portuguese aircon engineer in London said his sister Tatiana runs the dining side of an unusual restaurant between Lisbon and Cascais. He phoned his sister and she booked us in for the next week when we'd be in Lisbon. We got a Bolt very cheaply to get there. It was full of very cheery people. The formula is that for a mere €25 you get a 5 course tasting menu and plenty of very drinkable wine - we had white then red, in carafes. What you get to eat changes from day to day. We started with a tasty smoked pork salad, then a cod and chick pea dish. Then a delicious pork stew, followed by excellent beef strips with skin-on chips. To finish was a dessert made with pork fat and salt, rather good! After coffee and a digestif we were indeed happy people. We were probably the only non Portuguese there and everyone was very friendly. So a lunch at Gente Feliz is highly recommended for anyone staying in Lisbon. After lunch we got another Bolt to Cascais and took the train back to Lisbon. A...

What a nice place. The owner, his wife and the staff were super friendly. You don't have to choose your food. In my case that's a big plus. They just bring you the tasty food. Today they served us a fresh starter and 3 main courses, pork, bacalhau and beef steak. You can opt for red wine, white wine, beer or Orange Juice. After the meal you get a pot of good coffee with a dessert. All this for the price of € 25. And .. also included in the price is the pleasant atmosphere. It's just a wonderful place to eat. We will definitely come back for an excellent experience at "Sítio de...

I cannot say enough good things about this place. There is a fixed menu, and you get what the chef cooks. AND whatever he cooks is amazing! It was like 8 courses! I can’t see how anyone can eat that much and just go back to the office!! It’s insane-but to do it in a special occasion or a Tuesday, it’s totally with it. Our waitress was amazing. She took care of every single table on her own, explained everything and never once did we feel unattended. The food and flavor of all was spot on. The ambiance is all there-I wished they opened...
