I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express Lisbon - Oeiras for four nights, and overall, I had a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The hotel exceeded my expectations in several aspects, making my stay in Lisbon truly memorable.
Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who made the check-in process swift and hassle-free. They provided me with all the necessary information about the hotel amenities, breakfast timings, and nearby attractions, ensuring I felt welcome and well-informed from the very beginning.
The room I stayed in was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. The bed was cozy and provided a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring the city. The room had ample space and a functional layout, with a desk and chair that proved convenient for catching up on work or planning my itinerary. The modern decor and tasteful furnishings added to the overall ambiance of the room.
One of the highlights of my stay was the complimentary breakfast offered by the hotel. The breakfast spread was diverse and included a variety of options to cater to different tastes and dietary preferences. From fresh fruits and pastries to hot items such as boiled eggs and sausages, the breakfast buffet ensured I started each day on a delicious and energizing note. The dining area was clean and well-maintained, with attentive staff on hand to replenish food items and assist guests.
The hotel's location in Oeiras was a convenient base for exploring Lisbon and its surrounding areas. While not in the heart of the city, it provided easy access to public transportation, allowing me to reach popular attractions within a reasonable time. Additionally, the nearby shopping mall and restaurants offered a range of dining and entertainment options, providing convenience and variety during my stay.
The hotel staff were consistently helpful and accommodating throughout my visit. They readily assisted with directions, recommendations, and any queries I had, ensuring I felt well-supported and cared for during my stay. Their professionalism and attentiveness greatly enhanced my overall experience at the hotel.
While the Holiday Inn Express Lisbon - Oeiras provided an overall excellent stay, there were a few minor areas where improvements could be made. The air conditioning was a little stifling, which was a bit frustrating. Additionally, gym facilities, for guests would be requisite.
In conclusion, my four-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express Lisbon - Oeiras was a delightful experience. The hotel offered comfortable accommodations, friendly service, and a convenient location. I would gladly recommend it to fellow travelers looking for a comfortable and reasonably priced option while exploring the vibrant...
Read moreUpon entering the hotel, I felt a little let down. The entrance wasn't very welcoming. The check-in could use a face lift to make it more inviting. I did see work being done with the sign. Check-in was good. We were asked for our passports and then asked how we wanted to pay for the room. Paying and checking in went smoothly. The parking lot is good and has a good amount of parking spaces. Parking spaces also available in front along with a few handicap parking spaces. Elevator worked well. As we exited the elevator on the fifth floor, we were leery as we noticed the carpet was stained badly. As we got closer to our room (524) the stains became more prevalent. Dark and red stains and the bottom of the emergency door was rotted with black sandy grainy rot around the bottom. We were very relieved when we opened the door and found the room to be clean and inviting. Although walking through the hallway felt weird due to the stained carpet. The next day, the carpet did look slightly better as it had been vacuumed. The shower/bath combo would not be ideal for an elderly or someone with mobility issues as you have to step up quite a bit to enter the bathtub. I am about 5'2 and the shower head was a bit too short for me. Breakfast consisted of yogurts, breads, butter, jams and jellies, (pancakes although I went late and did not see any), cheese, deli meats, cereals, coffees, milk to include soy, juices, sparkling and still water in a bottle, and fresh fruits. This was my first stay at an IHG brand in more than 10 years. Overall, it was a good stay. Comfortable bed and pillows (although no pillow menu as stated on website). Hardworking staff in the kitchen and housekeeping. Very thankful for the staff and their hard work. Location was good too. There's a Lidl market next door along with a gym behind the hotel. A few blocks away is a mall with many shops to include another supermarket, a food court and movie theater at the top. Location was 10 miles from the Time Out Market in Lisboa. About 15 minutes away from Sintra. It is a good central location in...

Pros:
The breakfast was absolutely delicious and plentiful. The kitchen staff were not only friendly but also very efficient, keeping everything clean and well-stocked.
The lobby area was spotless, and I had no issues with parking.
The breakfast area was well-maintained and inviting.
Cons:
The room itself left a lot to be desired. There was visible mold around the bathtub seals, and dried cleaning fluid was noticeable on the toilet. It’s clear the room needed a bit more attention to cleanliness.
Dead insect (roach?) under towels in cabinet.
One big inconvenience was the flush button being behind the toilet lid, which meant you couldn’t flush without closing it first. A simple design flaw but annoying.
The carpets in the hallways and rooms are quite dated, with visible stains and marks on the wallpaper near the doors.
There were paper cups in the room instead of glass ones, which seemed a bit cheap for the price.
The TV was not a smart TV, so it was impossible to stream anything from Netflix or other platforms.
The elevator was tiny. It can only hold about three people with minimal luggage, which isn’t ideal if you’re traveling with a group.
Additionally, there was no refrigerator in the room, which was particularly inconvenient for storing medicine.
Overall, while the staff was friendly and the breakfast was great, the condition of the room and a few other amenities left much to be desired.
This doesn't meet the usual HI North American standards. Hallway is noisy with kids yelling in various rooms.
Location was about 60 mins to Lisbon...
