Restaurante Carlos Bar — Restaurant in Olhão

Well what I though was going to be a lovely afternoon having lunch with fam and friends , turned into a nightmare… came here for the first time , there was 6 adults 2 children and a baby . The starters took ages to come , the couver came after the starters , had to keep reming the staff it hadn’t come to the table yet , then came the main dishes , but before putting the mains down they didn’t take away the starters so had no room to put everything .. for a group of 6, 3 meals came , after maybe 30/40 minutes later the other 3 dishes arrives .. (wouldn’t mind , but the dishes where the same so you would think they would have been cooked at the same time) , so we where’s happy , we could have all eaten and gone back to the beach , but we couldn’t because the rest of the group still had to eat . So after the lunch , I asked to speak to the manager twice , after someone saying it’s me , I thought he was joking , as it was a guy jusy standing there in the middle of the restaurant in a pair of swimming shorts , no shirt or shoes on , I was absolutely disgusted, not only to have been approached like that but the way he spoke, instead of giving us an apology, he just said it wasn’t his problem mistakes happen , and he wasn’t going to give a discount or knock anything of the bill , (having worked in a restaurant and some in the group that own restaurants , we thought it was quite disgusting ). His wife that works there ended taking of the bill one sangria , wow. After this we went to the beach , where silly enough to still use his outdoor bar for cocktail, ( I was waiting for him to say something ) asked for 3 caipirinhas and one caipiroska , the same manager got up of a table where he was sat pissed and fagging it , went over to his staff in front of us and said make sure you don’t take 30 minutes or I’ll have another complain , well we just put the drinks back down and walked of happily without paying and...

We stumbled upon this little place and what a great beach vibe. Now this place is not for the weak, I've read the reviews about long wait times and let me tell you if you are in a rush then this place it not meant for you. We had a great experience. The staff were great , the drinks with a beautiful ocean view and our feet in the sand was amazing, what more can you ask for? The chicken, the batata fritas and the sea bass dish ŵere all delicious. The gralic shrimp was a good portion for three , and I would recommend some bread with this to dip in the sauce. All in all it was a good vibe, we did not feel rushed at all and just enjoyed the island time ..which for some is the whole reason you go on vacation to enjoy and appreciate time. We would definitely come back and recommend people to visit but be more patient and enjoy this beautiful...

Das Restaurant Carlos auf der Insel Armona ist für mich ein ganz besonderer Ort, der die entspannte Atmosphäre und das authentische Lebensgefühl der Insel perfekt widerspiegelt. Das Lokal empfängt seine Gäste mit viel Herzlichkeit und einer gemütlichen, familiären Stimmung – genau das Richtige, um zur Ruhe zu kommen und das Inselleben zu genießen.

Besonders hervorzuheben sind die frischen Meeresfrüchte, die direkt aus der umliegenden Ria Formosa stammen und immer wieder auf der Karte zu finden sind. Obwohl ich selbst kein großer Fischesser bin, habe ich mich regelmäßig auf die köstlichen Kartoffelecken gefreut, die für mich zum festen Bestandteil meiner Zeit auf Armona wurden. Über Wochen hinweg war ich mindestens einmal pro Woche im Carlos, und mit der Zeit wurde ich fast wie ein Stammgast behandelt – das Essen kam oft schon wie selbstverständlich an meinen Platz, und ich habe mich jedes Mal willkommen und bestens aufgehoben gefühlt.

Die Preise sind moderat und bieten ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, was das Carlos sowohl bei Einheimischen als auch bei Besuchern beliebt macht. Hier trifft man sich, genießt gemeinsam und fühlt sich schnell wie zu Hause. Insgesamt ist das Restaurant Carlos für mich der ideale Ort, um nach einem Tag am Strand oder einer Erkundungstour über die Insel die regionale Küche in entspannter Atmosphäre zu genießen.
