L'Artista — Restaurant in Oliveira do Hospital

We arrived at 19:00 so were the first clients of the evening. A man handed us a menu and indicated with a hand gesture which table we should use. I really thought that the guy was mute. Nope. Just miserable. First clients of the evening? I would expect that the reception would be warm because a. it's the start of the evening and the staff are all fresh, and b. here comes a paying customer. I value myself and my money more than to share either with a sullen waiter. We took our custom to Pizza etcetera at Oliveira do Hospital, 3,3km and 5 minutes...

We have been 7 months is Portugal and this was the best meal we have had! Fantastic! For anyone looking for a steak that is a nice cut, properly prepared and topped wonderfully, this is the place for you. Starters were amazing, (tomotoes and cheese, and bruschetta),main meal (l'artist fillet steak and gorgonzola fettuccine with Prawns)was fantastic and desert (profiteroles) were YUMMY!

Highly recommend this little place. Friendly service, english too, if you don't yet speak Portuguese. Restuarant is neat and clean. We will definitely...

Very GOOD food but very BAD organisation (15 min before getting menu, 45 min before ordering or getting drinks)! The chef wants to do it all: talk to customers, work behind the bar, work at the pizza oven, taking orders ... . To the chef: trust your staff, delegate and make everybody responsible for his/her specific tasks! Then everything will go twice/three times as fast and all customers will be double/triple as happy leaving your...
