Went here on a day trip to try out some Porco Preto from the Ourique region. We were amazed by how flavorful and well cooked the pork was, with the characteristic fattiness of Porco preto lending itself well to the eating experience. Unfortunately, the menu was not in English as it was written with chalk onto a standing blackboard slate, and the staff weren't able to speak English as well. I'll tell you, this is the best pork dish I ever tasted, and I tasted a few. The texture is close to wagyu beef served in japan, but with more fat. For dessert the "siricaia", a traditional dish from Alentejo, was done perfectly. We wanted to try a local meat, but unfortunately they ran out already. Instead we ordered another steak, which was very good! The food in my opinion was amazing, I even tried a new Portuguese dish that was made from asparagus (try it!)
