We were recommended to visit Café Fura - and we’re so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. We explained that we were vegetarian and asked if there was something suitable on the menu. They were more than happy to cater for us, and it turned out to be the best meal we’ve had all week.
We started with a delicious vegetable soup, rich in flavour, followed by a fresh, vibrant salad bursting with textures and tastes, served alongside perfectly fresh bread. For the main course, we enjoyed the most delicious pasta with mushrooms we’ve ever had, topped with four vegetable gyozas – absolutely superb. The pasta sauce was light yet full of flavour.
Although we were completely full after all that, we couldn’t resist dessert: a creamy cheesecake with red fruits and a traditional Portuguese pudding... both irresistible.
Thank you, Café Fura, for such a memorable meal at such a reasonable price. Highly...
Read moreWe came to have the daily special before heading to Lisbon. We mentioned this several times in both English and Portuguese, and even spoke directly to the restaurant owner. He didn’t give us any menu , he simply brought a salad we hadn’t ordered and some water. When the food arrived, the portions were huge and we couldn’t finish them. Then he told us that it wasn’t the daily special, but a dish from the menu , the menu he never gave us in the first place. We asked him to wrap up the food and to give us some ice in a small bag so the food (fish and octopus) wouldn’t spoil, but he refused and told us we should buy a cooler and ice from the supermarket. We found his response and attitude rude and disrespectful. It’s not right to deceive guests who come to his restaurant to eat. We are now in the car, it’s 32 degrees, heading toward Lisbon with fish and octopus kosted 3 times more than normal Eating at his restaurant turned out to be quite an...
Read moreSince about 6 months I’ve frequently visited this restaurant several times. Friendly and attentive staff and owner, great choice of tapas and dishes. There’s choice between international options and Portuguese classics. Everything I’ve tried has positively surprised me. The food is consistently delicious and well above par compared to the standard of Portuguese cuisine. This place is definitely worth a detour, as we usually drive 20+ minutes to eat here. Prices are very friendly. Thanks Rafael and staff for continuing to excellent service and food....
