We were in Fenais da Luz, Saõ Miguel to see an exhibition of local art creator.Afterwords, we were just wondering around the town and found this amazing place owned by Celine and John, sweet, wholesome people whom happened to came from Canada four years ago to start this Pastelaria. The pastries are amazing, keto, and diabetic friendly, it was like discovering a treasure in an unexpected place. The sandwiches are fresh, fulfilling, tuna, chicken and vegan even. The restaurant is on the first floor of the family house and is painted in a beautiful green. There is a terrace well placed warmed by the sun. And just beside a chicken coop. While we were eating our sandwiches, Philippe the rooster and his lady friends were cackling happily. Celine, the chef, makes those big and beautiful cookies, all sorts like chocolate and mint. Coconut pie, chocolate and caramel tart, flaky, those and many more made by hand by her, only. We enjoy a quiet lunch, with tea and coffee - which is one of the best coffee I had. This is the kind of improvisation that I like. An épicurien and human experience with an excellent « offre de service gourmande » a double whammy for me ! Long live Da Silva...
Read moreOur son picked Da Silva Pastelaria for breakfast one morning, its bright green paint exterior was a eye catching "want to go there", you can't miss it on your drive. This place is a gem! And so are the people there. Connie was our server and we met Celine the owner and chef and literally could have stayed all day to socialize. We loved it so much so on our fligh out day we had to go back and do one more breakfast there. This time we met Celine's husband as well and got to talk to him and Celine again. We also met a fella who lives not far from us back home; the world is truly smaller than we think 😀. The food, atmosphere and the people make this place feel like home. I'd give ten stars (but the computer only does five, lol). We'll be back one day on another trip that's for sure. Until then we wish this awesome crew many busy great days ahead! 💗from the four of us here in...
