Taberna Mula Cheia — Restaurant in Portimão

Freshly grilled seafood and more, tasty food, nice clean and friendly restaurant, but reason for 4* as if you never been here before or don’t have a menu on your table it could take you good 5-15 mins waiting before someone would come over to take your order. Saw an anxious customer go to the bar to order his food but he was sent back to his seat. So don’t go there when you are in a rush to eat. Secondly I’m not happy with food portions. I normally like to have chips(fried) with grilled meal but they only serve chips with the meat menu not with the fish and won’t swap items from the menu. Fish dishes come with boiled potatoes, so no problem we just order a bowl of chips as an extra, but when we got our food delivered not only had my husbands boiled potatoes been removed from his plate, (because he read out the order I presume they think he doesn’t want boiled potatoes, bless him) also it only served me with 3 small potatoes (I even wondered are they served to eat or just for decoration 😅 (great portion of fish though, see picture) and bowl of chips (€1.80) seem too small for 2 people. But overall still recommend for good fresh grilled food, just mention things to prepare you for what to expect....

Arrived at 11.35 and was told the lunch menu started at 12 .We where the only people in the restraunt..We had a drink and waited until the staff had eaten their lunch. The resturant started filling up at 12. We where completely ignored. The waitresses served all the other customers..I had to ask for a menu and eventually got one thrown at me..we decided what we wanted and again had to ask if we could order.. the waitress was rude yet again My partner ordered the grilled chicken to be told it would be 30mins...prob because they served everyone else who arrived ..decided to pay for our drinks and leave...got ignored at the counter for 15 mins...wouldnt bother wasting your time with this place..especially if your English...would give no...

Cheap, but very low class

We went there on a Saturday for lunch. We had to wait 20mins before being seated. Food is cheap, but the service is very slow. And the worst of all, they did not have half of what was on their menu! No bacalhau, no polvo,... I don't even want to know what the evening must be like then...Maybe less important, but the overall clientele is rather low class: smoking, not wearing masks, not respecting social distancing rules,... We would not go back, the low price doesn't offset...
