João do Cabeço is hands down one of the best restaurants in Porto Santo, came back year after year and it’s still just as exceptional. The food is consistently delicious, with highlights like their unbelievably soft and buttery bolo do caco in prego especial, one of the best you’ll find on the island. The prego especial no bolo do caco is my personal favorite, nicely seasoned steak inside that tasty local bread, the bifanas are also great, tender and full of flavor. The service is friendly, professional, and efficient, and the atmosphere is warm, with rustic stone walls and a terrace that offers a relaxed local vibe. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and If you have to wait they give you snacks while waiting. This is a spot that is consistently great, food done exceptionally well, and a team that truly cares. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Porto Santo.

Had Picado Grande, a dish with beef in a champinon sauce arranged with french fries, tasted lovely. Luckely the vaiter said that it was enough for 3 persons, otherwise we would have ordered one grande for me and one small for my wife😬 we vere hungry but couldn’t finish the grande!! We had the most wonderfull garlic bread with the meal. Beer and water and we were totally full. So full that we couldn’t think of desert. Very friendly waiter. A lovely meal ending a great week at Porto Santo.

We ate lunch and dinner here as it was the only place nearby open in March. It was bustling, great Portuguese food (large portions), very affordable, and very friendly staff that seemed to enjoy sharing their culture with tourists. They give you snacks to eat while you wait for your food. The chorizo cooked at your table is a fun treat, also the birds, plants, and cat.

Me and my family went to eat at this restaurant for lunch at rush hour so I figured there might be some tiny mistakes but this was over the line. When we sat down we waited for about 20 minutes to get our drinks and when we ordered the drinks, the waitress brought the wrong drinks three times. Not to mention when she handed out the menus she put all five of them on the edge of the table and moved on the same was with the plates. She gave 3 plates stacked upon each other to one of us to hand them out to the others. Those wrong drinks i mentioned earlier, turns out she PUT THEM ON THE TAB!! Despite us correcting her mistake when she brought them to us and taking them back immediately. After we finished eating we went to pay and the bill we got said everything cost 129€. When we got to the hotel we saw a text message from the bank saying we paid 1129€ FOR THE LUNCH!! We immediately went back to sort this out. The waitress was giggling as if it was just a tiny little innocent mistake but one thousand dollars is not tiny!! The manager even tried to deny it and showed us the bill he had on a computer which said 129€ but we asked him to show us the POS terminal invoice it says 1129€ and all he could say was "haha sorry sorry"??!! Unbelievable terrible experience. Do...

We deiced to share an Octopus in onion sauce The waiter was slightly pissed of that we wanted to share a meal.

The food is good, the white wine, too. We wanted a glass of Rose which the waiter said they didn't have, they only serve it by the bottle. The red wine came out of the fridge (!), which basically meant it was ruined.

The meal was cooked just right. However, it was covered with chips that quickly became soggy.

Most of the waiters have tunnel vision and the one that served us was both unwilling and unable to fix our wobbly table. In the end we did it ourselves.

We were at the restaurant last year and we got the impression today that it has become...
