Me and my family went to eat at this restaurant for lunch at rush hour so I figured there might be some tiny mistakes but this was over the line. When we sat down we waited for about 20 minutes to get our drinks and when we ordered the drinks, the waitress brought the wrong drinks three times. Not to mention when she handed out the menus she put all five of them on the edge of the table and moved on the same was with the plates. She gave 3 plates stacked upon each other to one of us to hand them out to the others. Those wrong drinks i mentioned earlier, turns out she PUT THEM ON THE TAB!! Despite us correcting her mistake when she brought them to us and taking them back immediately. After we finished eating we went to pay and the bill we got said everything cost 129€. When we got to the hotel we saw a text message from the bank saying we paid 1129€ FOR THE LUNCH!! We immediately went back to sort this out. The waitress was giggling as if it was just a tiny little innocent mistake but one thousand dollars is not tiny!! The manager even tried to deny it and showed us the bill he had on a computer which said 129€ but we asked him to show us the POS terminal invoice it says 1129€ and all he could say was "haha sorry sorry"??!! João do Cabeço is hands down one of the best restaurants in Porto Santo, came back year after year and it’s still just as exceptional. The food is consistently delicious, with highlights like their unbelievably soft and buttery bolo do caco in prego especial, one of the best you’ll find on the island. The prego especial no bolo do caco is my personal favorite, nicely seasoned steak inside that tasty local bread, the bifanas are also great, tender and full of flavor. The service is friendly, professional, and efficient, and the atmosphere is warm, with rustic stone walls and a terrace that offers a relaxed local vibe. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and If you have to wait they give you snacks while waiting. The food is good, the white wine, too. We wanted a glass of Rose which the waiter said they didn't have, they only serve it by the bottle. The red wine came out of the fridge (!), which basically meant it was ruined.

The meal was cooked just right. However, it was covered with chips that quickly became soggy.

Most of the waiters have tunnel vision and the one that served us was both unwilling and unable to fix our wobbly table. In the end we did it ourselves.
