At first I thought is a joke and I wanted to go back on m quad. Than I decided to ask a couple the only customers at this place at that time. They only said to us go there you won’t belive how excellent the food is. And that was sooo true. Simple lunch snacks than literally made our day and I understood that great food do exist in Porto Santo. If you want to have a great lunch or a perfect dinner you got to try this place. At the end of our visit we asked for a dinner menu and we decided to come back later. Unfortunately after a long day around the island we decided to stay in the room as we hiked 6k in that day. A small idea cross my mind to call them and check if they do delivery very. Guess what.they really did. They did all they could to make sure they take the details correct and they delivered amazing ribs, best garlic bread and home made fries to our room. Mentioning that prices are a lot better than any place around Porto Santo and after that we found out that the lady who is cooking is the best cook of Porto Santo.
Go there and you won’t regret. This is the food that you want to pay for in life and on your holiday. Fresh, home made, simple, tasty and the way how it should be.
With love, Carmen and Sam ( we hopefully will be able to come back...
Read moreI am from Madeira and have been on holiday in Porto Santo ever since I can remember. Every year, me and my family would go to this restaurant, was one of my grandfathers favourite. Unfortunately, this year I did not have a pleasant experience. Got to the restaurant, me and my friend were completely ignored by the staff, waited for about 10min. There were tables available so we just picked one. A few minutes after, the waiter brought us the menu but didn't even said hello or asked if we wanted drinks. Both of us wanted the chicken (that is their speciality and it is very good!). After about 20min, one of the two waiters came to take the order and when we said we wanted the chicken she said they ran out of chicken and two other meat main dishes. I asked her to give us a few minutes to think. We were very disappointed and very frustrated to be waiting for so long just to order and for them to say that some dishes were not available. I could hear some other tables asking if the food was going to be ready soon so, we decided to leave. I know the food is good but the service has become terrible. Not organised, very slow and lack of staff. Unfortunately, not planning on returning there until it...
Read moreLovely dinner with nice, fresh food which was quickly brought to the table. Very unassuming restaurant from the outside - you wander through small residential streets until you reach the spot - but totally worth the visit. Had octopus "clarinha" in a surprising tomato and paprika chutney, ribs and octopus rice as main, and alheira (soft sausage) and open flame roasted chouriço (you do the turning of the sausage over the little clay burner!). Alheira was stupendous, served with a sauté of walnuts, pink pepper corn, and a soy sauce (or was it balsamic vinegar..?) reduction. Portuguese food in a pleasant setting. Go there, it is worth it. I...
