The hotel is set in a semi-rural location, but we walked into the town in less than 20 minutes. We stayed for 2 nights in May 2017 - Friday and Saturday. Friday night was very quiet, little or no other guests it seemed. Saturday was full! We had a room which had 2 terraces one facing east and one west (and were above the restaurant entrance) - the views were great. The room was spacious, nicely decorated with matching furnishings, clean, air-con worked, (it was 35c that day). The bed was a typical Portuguese mattress (quite "firm"!) but linen was fresh and seemed quite new. We thought it might be noisy on Saturday evening with a function below our room, but to be honest, the surroundings are so quiet, we didn't hear anything that disturbed us (apart from the odd goat/sheep/cockerel)! WiFi worked very well, parking is freely available in the grounds. Tania went out of her way to ensure that we had everything we needed - in advance of our stay we asked if there was a small fridge in the room, (which there is not), but we were provided with one free of charge. Fantastic and unbelievable value for money at what are basically "budget" prices for a room and breakfast. We would thoroughly recommend a stay there for those wishing to use the area as a base for touring or sightseeing (Monsaraz,...

We did one night in Evora and one night in Reguengos de Monsaraz, so that we could spend a day at Herdode de Esporao. Moira couldn't have been more lovely! We were not expected much. But the room we were given was spacious and comfortable. Bonus: it included two large balconies, one for sunrise and one for sunset! Looking out at the rolling yellow wheat fields was beautiful! ||As a bonus, we took dinner at the restaurant downstairs. It was one of the best meals we ate on our trip! Very affordable for pork, prawn and monkfish stew in a large copper pot (plenty big enough for two ppl). Red wine is plentiful and affordable. Our waiter, Luis, was so friendly and funny. ||Our stay at Moira turned out to be one of the best parts of our trip! Very memorable, very affordable and...
