Just stopped here for a beer after having the day out on the island (I live on Faial, the island next door)… best draught Super Bock ever... and my mate had a draught cider which seemed to go down well! Nuts served with the drink free of charge. Friendly staff and a very clean and tidy place - would not hesitate to eat here. I saw musical instruments in the corner, so obviously a music venue too, no doubt evenings / weekends. Could be fun!

To those who said they waited an hour and a half for food... come on! I would say, in my limited (very) Portuguese, at the bar: "onde e meu jantar por favour - eu esperar muito horas!" :::: "Where is my dinner please - I wait for many hours!". That should do the trick. Local restaurant, little bit chaotic outside, didn't know where to sit first, inside was like in sauna 😳took a menu when one table outside was just free so we sit there. And again didn't know if I have to make an order inside or someone will come to us , but after few minutes waitress showed up , we order a beers and wanna have something from menu - tuna steak and fish of the day .. both were out.. so we took what was left over. I got a cod with grilled potatoes, and my husband grilled squid . Everything came in 15-20min, we were not disappointed, food was fresh and tasty. Stopped in for a casual meal and ended up having a really pleasant experience. The clams were good — not the best I’ve ever had, but fresh and nicely cooked. What really stood out, though, was the warm and friendly service.

The waitress made us feel genuinely welcome, and the relaxed, unpretentious setting added to the charm. It’s the kind of place where simplicity works in its favor — no fuss, just honest food and kind people.
