Restaurante "Baixas" — Restaurant in São Vicente

We stayed at the hotel for two nights and after eating here on the first night, we decided to eat here the second night as well as we really enjoyed the food and it was such a peaceful spot with a lovely sea view.

On the second night we both chose the beef capelinha as we had seen someone have it the night before and it looked delicious. It tasted just as good as it looked and the portions are really big. We had the garlic bread with it too which is so nice! The prices are really reasonable for the mains and was only around 50 euros in total for both of us with a lovely bottle of red wine too. We tried this restaurant during our stay at Casa da Capelinha. It is nothing special but you can seat outside with a beautiful view or inside. On the menu you will find different choices of meat or fish dishes. They also offer traditional Madeira food. We had chicken breast and tuna steak. Both was served with fries & Salat. Amazing restaurant, had such a good time. We flew in from Manchester, and stayed for two nights and were unsure where to eat for our evening meals. Decided to give the restaurant a try and we were not disappointed!! Portions were very generous, seasoned and cooked very well and a great bottle of wine to go with it. To top it all off, the staff were so friendly and attentive, and Carlos and Maria were unbelievable hosts and made us feel so welcome.
