Restaurante A Fronteira — Restaurant in São Vicente

I went to this restaurant today with the intention of having lunch with kebab meat with salad, fried corn and French fries. It was a total disappointment after trying to talk to the man who supplies the meat. Initially, he completely ignored the customer, then when I asked what cut of meat he had for the kebab, he rudely and loudly replied (in front of other customers who were at the tables) that I had no business knowing what type of meat was being served, I just had to sit at the table, be confident and wait, and if I didn't accept I could leave. Even so, I still thought that this attitude was a little bad moment on the part of the man in question and I looked for a table to be served. To my great surprise, the man continued to speak loudly, "scolding" and addressing the other customers, stating that I was there to be served according to what he wanted and not according to any kind of preference on my part. In short, it was an almost one-sided conversation that bordered very, very close to verbal rudeness on the part of the shopkeeper. I was frozen and even afraid of being verbally attacked, I informed the gentleman that under those conditions I was leaving the commercial space. I had much more to say about the conditions of this space. Anyway, to never return or advise anyone, it has a score below 0.

Estive hoje neste restaurante com a intenção de almoçar carne de espetada com salada + milho frito + batata frita. Foi uma total desilusão depois de tentar entrar em diálogo com o senhor que fornece a carne. Inicialmente ignorou completamente o cliente, depois ao perguntar que peça de carne tinha para espetada respondeu-me grosseiramente e em voz alta (em frente a outros clientes que se encontravam nas mesas) que eu não tinha nada que saber qual o tipo de carne a ser servida, tinha era de me sentar à mesa, ter confiança e aguardar, caso não aceitasse podia ir embora. Mesmo assim ainda pensei que aquela atitude fosse um pequeno mau momento do senhor em questão e procurei uma mesa para ser servido. Para meu maior espanto e senhor continuou a falar em voz alta “ralhando” e se dirigindo aos outos clientes afirmando que eu estava ali era para ser servido com ele queria e não com algum tipo de preferências da minha parte. Enfim, foi um diálogo quase unilateral que roçou muito e muito perto a malcriação verbal do comerciante. Fiquei gelado e até com medo de ser agredido verbalmente, informei o senhor que naquelas condições abandonava o espaço comercial. Tinha muito mais para dizer relativamente às condições deste espaço. Enfim para nunca mais voltar ou aconselhar alguem, tem uma pontuação...

Thieves. There is no menu, so they charge you whatever they are feeling at that moment, when we got the receipt after we paid it just said "Meal x1", there was no itemization. We went as a group of 4 people, we ate 2 skewers in total, 2 colas, 1 water and 2 small beers, we had fries, bread and salad as sides, and the total was 61€! Assuming everything was priced above average, skewers at 30€ (15€ each), drinks at 10€ (2€ each), and sides at 12€ (4€ each) we're still missing 9€ here, and that's assuming everything is way overpriced! No way to know for sure since they don't itemize bills... The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either, I advise everyone, especially tourists, to stay away. There don't seem to be...

Wirklich schöner Laden, aber hört auf die Touristen abzuziehen. Ihr habt immer Gäste hier, dann braucht ihr keinen abziehen. Ich war 2x da. Beide Male passte die Rechnung nicht. Zweites Mal haben wir bestellt und die Preise stehen ja sogar teilweise an der Wand: 2 Getränke aus dem Kühlschrank laut Schild je 1,50€, eine Tüte Chips laut Schild 2,20€. Dann noch 1 Espresso ein Michkaffee. Rechnung war 11,20€. 1,50€+1,50€+2,20€-11,20=6,00€ für zwei Kaffe?!

Beim ersten Mal hat die (sehr liebe Frau an der Bar) folgendes auf einem Schmierzettel gerechnet: 1x Spieß mit Beilage für 27€, 2 Getränke, 3 Kaffe und 2x kleines Eis. Ihre Rechnung konnte ich sehen, kamen ca 38€ raus. Haben wollte sie 48€, vielleicht nur ein Kopfrechenfehler, aber ein Taschenrechner lag neben ihr…. Habe einfach gezahlt, weil wir uns beim bestellen schon mit Händen und Füßen verständigt haben, aber das ist abzocke.

Wäre es nur beim ersten Mal passiert hätte ich es ja noch gut sein lassen, aber heute die 11,20€ die mir der junge Mann an der Bar berechnet hat war dann zuviel.

Essen war sehr lecker, Leute sehr freundlich. Als Einheimischer bestimmt super, auch preislich was man an den Preistafeln liest voll ok. Was auf der Rechnung bei Touristen steht ist nicht in Ordnung. Und wenn der Besitzer jetzt hier drunter kommentiert ich hätte was sagen sollen wenn’s falsch ist, kann ich nur sagen: Ein Kaffee wird hier mit Händen und Füßen bestellt, da ist es mir die Energie nicht wert drüber zu diskutieren. Ein mal kann sowas passieren, aber beim zweiten Mal ist es dann extra. Ich werde hier bald wohnen, aber nie wieder kommen oder es weiterempfehlen. Madeira wäre nicht der erste Ort der die Touristen verliert, weil man als Tourist überall draufzahlt. Es geht dabei nicht darum, dass das Essen dann zu teuer wird, es geht darum dass man in einer Wohlfühlzeit verarscht wird. Wenn ihr 6€ für zwei Kaffee wollt, dann schreibts an die Wand. Deswegen wäre ich nicht gefahren, wenn ich...
