My boyfriend and I had dinner here just this past Thursday evening, and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and the ambiance. We came to the Douro after a surf trip where our instructor helped us make the reservations. The restaurant is cozy, and the Chef, Graça Montiero, is lovely. We do not speak Portuguese or French, but she was very gracious in communicating with us. When we arrived she led us to her second floor where tables were set and we had a beautiful view of the town square. She brought us bread, honey, olives, and olive oil, then shortly after cod and fish appetizers, as we had selected seafood the day prior when making the reservation. Our main dish was a very large codfish, and we tried our best to eat it all. The portion was large so we failed, but she let us take it with us to finish later.
