Manuel Tapada is a wonderful tour guide. We had the pleasure of spending a day with him in September 2024. He picked us up at our accommodation in Porto and brought us an excellent tour of the Douro Valley. He has an extensive knowledge of the local history, agriculture and geology. The tour included visits to two wineries of his choosing, both were exceptional. We initially hesitated about the boat ride - don't, it is a fantastic experience. They drop you off at one of the wineries. The dinner [too good to call it a lunch] was prepared and cooked by his mother. That meal alone is the only reason you need to hire Manuel. The whole event was the most memorable part of our 3 week visit to Portugal. You may wonder is the cost per person is excessive - it is not. Manuel's tour is great value and should not be missed....

Manuel is a wonderful tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about the region, its culture and its wine. Picked us up at our hotel in Porto and drove us out to the Pinhao area, stopping at wineries and for an excellent lunch prepared by his mother. His father also gave us an excellent rundown of the history of Portugal and the makeup of the Portuguese land at their museum while serving us lunch. Overall, it was the highlight of our 12-day stay in Portugal. Highly recommend a tour by Manuel. You will not be disappointed and the views of the Douro River Valley will take your...

I wanted to thank Dear Alberto Tapada and Manuel Tapada to A great experience, a combination of tradition, fine food, amazing port wine, we visited on April 23 and enjoyed the experience, the conversation, we got a lot of knowledge about the area, we did a ceramics experience that we really liked, from Forto we actually passed through this place to the Douro Valley and it was the most successful choice , because after the amazing explanations we understood the entire area from a geographical and geological point of view much better, and the road from ther to the valley...
