We went there 2 times in one day , the first time for coffee and cake, and everything was fine. After our hike, we went there a second time for dinner, and the experience was horrible. Waiter was rude to us from the beginning. Nothing really changed after .When we were ordering, he didn't respond 2 times to my question about soft drinks only after third time I was noticed. Everything has been done in a hurry ,like he wanted to escape far away from us. Our skewers were cooked medium rere when we asked for well done ,I have to admit chicken was good. Unfortunately we noticed that this restaurant is selecting clients in two categories, first class citizens( that came for dinner) and second class (that are ordering only coffe and cake) even though this local is advertised as Café and Restaurant. My last thought is that when food at a restaurant isn't great but service is nice over all experience is okay, but when food is good and service is horrible, people don't really want to go back to this place. If nothing changes about service, I do...

AMAZING! This place has it all. The views from this quaint overlook restaurant were incredible. The rocky coast below offers a magnificent prospect from the outdoor dining area above. The food was so delicious. I really enjoyed the traditional tomato soup that is prepared here in Madeira with a delectable surprise. One of their signature dishes was listed on the menu as roast chicken, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually bone in chicken that had been well marinated in white wine, then grilled over an open wood fire. The flavor was succulent. I paired that with a light and well chilled green wine from the region. The meal was excellent! But the best part of the experience was the hospitality and friendliness of the proprietor and his wonderful staff. Almost every dining experience on this island has been very good. However, this one, by far, was the most remarkable of them all. Thank you, Christiano, for the memorable experience and the delicious meal that you and your wonderful...

The food in this restaurant was really good. But the service was horrible. First you wait for 20 minutes just to get noticed by the staff. When we ordered, we specified we wanted espetada for one with a small salad (for my boyfriend) and just the limpets for me. The waitress asked again - are you sure just for one person? We said yes. However, the guy brought the espetada for two people and insisted that that was what we ordered. I told him no multiple times and that he should just leave the portion for one person. He said ok and that he will check with the kitchen so they change our total cost. However, when the check came, they tried to make us pay for the 2 people portion, even though we only had the portion for one. After some talk they changed it, and we paid the right amount but everyone from the staff seemed kinda...

American honeymooners — this was a perfect place for us to wrap up our hike that took us down and up from the St. George Ruins. Not only was the beer cold, the meat skewers unbelievable, and the views spectacular, but the owner Christiano was a super kind host who greeted us, poured us some special Poncha, and took a Polaroid of us for his wall of fame (?) of visitors from all over the world to this little cafe he started 10 years ago. Can’t miss if you’re in Santana, particularly if you do the hike!

Zdecydowanie polecam!!! We came across a restaurant by accident, visiting an abandoned place called Calhau, located on the north coast of Madeira. Beautifully located on a high cliff, the Cabo Aereo restaurant convinced us above all with its location and freshly lit grill. Extremely friendly host treated us with a great espetada with local potatoes and a mix of salads. After lunch we drank coffee and homemade delicious poncho maracuja. The dishes were very tasty and well presented. The service was perfect - a very nice owner. Affordable prices. We encourage everyone to visit this place while on Madeira. I would definitely recommend !!!
