This traditional Portuguese restaurant was really hidden gem and worth to visit. Food was delicious and really to die for :) they specialise in portugese, Mediterranean and local cuisine. We have been in this places nearly everyday during our 2 weeks stay in Arco de sao Jorge. As for the dishes, we ate very well, local dishes, well seasoned and tasty. The scenery and the view are breathtaking so we really advise to sit outside, had a glass of wine, some food and enjoy the ocean and surrounding cliffs. Food we can highly recommend: octopus with fries, lapas (kind of scallops really tasty), beef picada, Filet da, beef stew, lamb stew Drinks were also well priced, strong and tasty especially local ponchas. Staff very friendly and talkative. Highly recommended 👌

The food was great and it came quite fast, but some of the waiters are acting quite disrespectful (especially the young lady). Order everything that you want first hand because if you want anything else after they bring you the order good luck with that. We had to ask 3 waiters for a beer and some lemon till we were quite annoyed so we went to the cashier to ask again. We dared to ask (politely) for another beer and a lemon since we received just a small slice and the lady acted like we asked for too much replying with an unnecessary bad attitude that shocked us. Poncha is quite strong and you might not like it if you prefer a more juice style one (i don’t, but my sister said it was too much; so it depends on you preferences). The view is pretty nice.

For starter we had bolo de caco (good), tomato soup (not seasoned enough) and paté (it was just a cheap mini can from supermarket). For mains we had the fried scabbard fish and seafood rice. The fish itself was good, although small portion, but the sides terrible - the boiled cabbage released a lot of water in the plate. The seafood rice was just terrible, besides having no taste and being overcooked, it looked like the seafood was not fresh, and was first time I saw surimi(crab sticks) in seafood rice - just bad. I cannot understand the high rating of this restaurant, maybe meat is good. Only positive thing was the view we had of the sunset.

It's a nice place, always busy, locals also visit there. When we came we were unlucky with how busy it was and how understaff they are. Waited for 20 min to get anyone to come to us. As we're a big group - we've already wrote down our order to make it faster. When we told waitress that we have it written, she was rude and said she'll come and take it one-by-one by herself. A minute later the other older and nicer lady got our order from the list we had and helped to send it to the kitchen faster. We still waited for an hour for the food to start coming. It was good but we had to go to the bar to serve ourselves and waiting time was the longest from all...
