We drove pass the village and was already almost 15h so most restaurants are about to close for lunch in Portugal. We are lucky to find restaurante Martins as it’s one of the few open all through the afternoon. Not only that, the block is quiet and decent and with with its own area for parking (like many around the village). And the food look like all very traditional!

We chose the recommended Cabrita no forno (oven baked goat and potatoes) and it came with a very traditional cooked vegetable (surprisingly a little bit like pickle taste) which match very well with the meat (since I was worried it’s a bit too much of meat and too rich). Also with a rice as side so for sure you are to be very filled! The goat was very tasty and so as the potatoes! We also ordered a soup do dia which was chicken soup with some little balls of pasta and we loved it! Obviously we couldn’t finish the dish and the owner, with a very calm character, kindly helped us packed with a bottle of icy water to better preserve the food for our long ride home.

The place was very clean, calm and quiet. We felt very relaxed and were recharged to continue on the road. We highly recommend it for everyone appreciate local food to have...

Vieram sopas.

Ainda estávamos a consumir, portanto.

We went for dinner and everything was so delicious! You get a lot of starters and each main dish is meant for 2 people (comes with potatoes and a salad too) so either skip the starters or get ready to bring some leftovers home (recommended - everyone does it). Local wine was also great and the staff was smiley, even if they didn't speak any English. There was an English menu though so no worries! Highly recommended. We paid €40 for 2 people and were SO full. We should have taken the leftovers with us instead of trying to finish it all 😅 At the end, you get a complimentary shot of some...

I am actually writing this review while still seating in the restaurant. If you are staying nearby or just passing by this place is a must! The prices are really cheap for the quantity and the quality we have received. The best part of this place is the atmosphere! The people working here will really take care of you and serve you in a good way. They even helped us to get a taxi! No problem with using English!
