Restaurante Angelus — Restaurant in Sesimbra

Very expensive and low quality for the price vs offer you can get in the area of Sesimbra. Elaboration of the menu is poor with very limited number of options available. Used to be a great restaurant apparently (that is why we went based on years of hear say as we lived in the area all our lives and never had the chance to go). But for me as per 2022 standards does not match what you can get in Sesimbra. We ate the fundue because there was nothing else in the menu which catched the eye. However with such a variety of fresh fish in the area and so many portuguese typical dishes to choose from is really a disappointing foodie experience I'm afraid. I'm sorry Angelus but I think the restaurant stopped in time and there is some room for improvement on the quality vs price vs offer. I must say the inside of the restaurant is very pleasant, clean and high standards. Some appliances in WC were not working very well but is just a small detail. I believe the problem is the food offer/quality vs price. Staff is ok. Not so attentive as you'd expect and a bit distant and disconnected. In summary, I don't mind paying high prices in good restaurants, but Angelus does not qualify in my standards. I love food and the portuguese gastronomic experience and definitely did not end up satisfied with the experience at Angelus. Cosy place, well served quality fondue and excellent choice of wine list. Place to go and enjoy food and wine soaking in candle lid ambience and long talks. For 2 people - 1 fondue, a bottle of wine(price range 20-25€) and desert to share approx 70€. As a fondue place, of course, it goes with some fried aroma in the air, but looks and tastes so good, so I give a discount on fresh air quality. Employees are attentive, as because of cold weather we did not want to stay in outer-restaurant-area, so they set a table just for us indoors. They do, anyhow, serve other dishes, but we wanted to go for house special - mixed meat and duck fondue..and we loved it. It was a dinner, and was not heavy meal, at all - well proportioned.
