So we have visited here before but now the restaurant is under new management with Max the chef and his wife. His attentiveness and his staffs attentiveness were outstanding. He was trialing his menu when we visited. My partner had Ribs (max specials) which he said were amazing, l haven't seen him that animated by a dish for a long time! friend had squid (which was cooked very well, not tough or too oily like many places) the desserts selection was appealing and went for cheesecake and a mango sorbet, both were delicious. there are not so many dining options in Messines so it's great to have such good quality food being served. There is a garden at the front to sit outside, covered dining area at the front, large seating restaurant area at the rear and heaps of parking. Four of us. Ordered a different Prato do Dia each - all excellent. Service was very good. Our Portuguese didn't stretch far enough and the specials menu was handwritten so googling was a struggle. Thankfully the hosts were well able to help us out. So friendly and welcoming. Great laid back spot and we'll be back. Also have a takeaway menu. Very friendly staff who look after you. We went here mid afternoon, 3 ish, normally it’s difficult to find anywhere that will serve food at that time, but no problem here. We had plate of the day, ribs with egg and grilled swordfish. Both dishes were good tasty food, served hot and plenty of it. With bread and olives to start, 500ml house red, desert and coffee at just under €12 each. You cant complain at that! We will be going back...
