Our family loves dining at Spices Asian Restaurant whenever we stay at Penha Longa Resort. It has become a tradition for us, as the buffet here is truly one of the best we've found in Europe. The quality and variety are exceptional, featuring a wide range of Asian dishes from fresh sushi and sashimi to teppanyaki and seafood selections. The interactive cooking stations, especially the teppanyaki, are a highlight. Watching the chef prepare dishes right in front of us adds a unique and enjoyable touch to the meal. The sushi and seafood are always fresh, and the presentation is top-notch. It’s rare to find such a high-quality Asian buffet outside of major Asian cities, and Spices really stands out. The only downside is that the buffet is currently only available on Saturday evenings, which makes planning a bit challenging. Nevertheless, it’s always worth the visit, and we look forward to it every time we stay at Penha Longa. Highly recommend it for families and anyone looking to indulge in a top-tier Asian dining experience!

We really liked the food at Spices! We had the Green Veggie Curry with jasmine rice, the Butter Chicken, Tofu Furai, and Edamame. I loved the curry! The rice was a little undercooked but mostly fine. The tofu and edamame were great. My husband liked the butter chicken too but the naan tasted more like a pita than naan - still tasty though. The atmosphere and service were awesome. The only thing I didn’t like was that we were charged a whole bottle of water but weren’t given the bottle. The waitress poured both our glasses half full and took the bottle away. We’d still come back here at our next stay!

We dined at Spices during our stay at the resort. The meal was so memorable and Rodriggo was absolutely amazing! He honestly made our dining experience phenomenal. We enjoyed the pork belly with apple and miso, toro specialty sushi, and pork bao. They were out of the wagyu but Rodriggo went above and beyond to have the same dish prepared with a different cut of steak. The wine and whiskey recommendations were on point. We loved our dinner experience and would absolutely recommend it!

Restaurant was painfully noisy for a Tuesday evening at 8 pm. Food was generally good but not exceptional considering the prices. I found it offensive that we were asked if we wanted water to drink and the server kept refilling our water glasses with no indication that we would be charged 6 euros for each of the three bottles (18 euros in total) he used to fill our glasses. We had no way of knowing how much water we drank as the server kept the bottles somewhere other than...
