At first we were worried about dining here because of some now obvious less than legitimate reviews.

The food was exactly what it says it is simple basic north Portuguese food. The suckling pig (leitao) was simply cooked to perfection, yes it was a little greasy... That is how it is meant to be. The posta was delicious and massive the four of us had to be rolled to the car. The staff couldn't do more for us.

El cochinillo no es el de Segovia, la ración algo justita pero está bien cocinado, la corteza crujiente y acompañado de patatas chips, ensalada y de un arroz caldoso (el caldo es muy parecido al de la Feiçoada… con un sabor sin determinar). El vino tinto estaba caliente. De acuerdo que no debería estar frío como el blanco, pero al menos a la temperatura de servicio… no pude acabarme una botella de 375 ml. El servicio tal y como se espera en cualquier bar de carretera El aperitivo, un quesito (2,75€) te lo cobran aunque no lo hayas pedido (te lo comes por no rechazarlo y sacar los colores al camarero, lo mismo ocurre con la mantequilla… que aunque se la llevan cuando traen el plato principal te la cobran igual…. Ein hungriger Pilger auf Nahrungssuche im Nirgendwo. 10 Minuten von seiner Unterkunft entfernt, an einem großen Verkehrsknotenpunkt, ein Restaurant, das erstmal eine Raststätte vermuten lässt. Aber, weit gefehlt. Innen, auch wenn man das Lichtkonzept noch optimieren könnte, fein gedeckte Tische. Ein zurückhaltender Ober bringt gleich etwas Brot und sehr leckere Oliven. Obwohl der Laden „König der Schweine“ heißt, bestelle ich einen Bacalhao, Kabeljau. Selten habe ich so leckeren Fisch gegessen. Und auch die Beilagen, sonst hier oft vernachlässigt, waren wunderbar knackig und lecker gewürzt. Im Restaurant kann man auch Wein kaufen. Der Vinho verde war exzellent.
