Such a shame that the service has slipped to such a bad level. We have been coming here for nearly 8 years and have always felt welcomed here, except this year. The service we experienced was appalling and even our young children felt uncomfortable. Almost 25 minutes after arriving our food and drinks order was taken. After we had finished our main course our table was cleared and a "reservado" was slapped down. Even though we still had drinks to finish we had no more glasses and werent asked if we wanted a dessert or coffee. Other customers were standing next to our table like vultures and not one member of staff asked if we were finished. Eventually we called someone over to ask to order dessert and it was obvious they wanted our table. Our order was taken ungraciously and our 8 year old daughter asked us why the man had a problem with us. After our drinks and dessert were slammed down and I dared to point out that the drinks werent what we ordered; the waiter started shouting at me in Portuguese whilst gesticulating with his hands. What a shame and how awful to feel so unwelcome. This restaurant offers simple but delicious food with a stunning view which is why we have always come back (our family live locally) but how can you condone such bad service and rudeness especially in front...

I never write negative reviews as there are normally a few good reasons why the service of a restaurant is sometimes not as good as it can be. But, this establishment needs to be highlighted for it's piss poor attitude and service. The food was fine but left a bitter taste in your mouth with having to deal with the owner/manager and miserable uncommunicative staff.

0 effort was made to get us a table (I asked to share with other guests in the end and we separated a table, easy) the manager (who has to do Everything himself), argues openly to his wife in-front of customers after I tell him, I've found a table I am told "IF I have time, I will come to you" as if being there is a sheer inconvenience the staff are miserable and I don't blame them. But they made no effort to even acknowledge when asking for the bill (after the 3rd time it becomes frustrating) locals are treated with respect and tourists seems to be treated like a pest

Basically the guy is a massive **. I would never eat there in my life and even if I prevent one person from eating there because of this post I will be happy. The guy has a monopoly because there is only one restaurant there and I wish I didn't have to eat there, but we had no choice. Please don't eat there, take your own food...

This review is based solely on my personal experience s over the years including last week. Firstly get there early if you want a beach front table although a lot of people prefer the shade. Engrina beach is a wonderful location and a great place to swim and you don't go there if you're in a hurry to eat. I personally have never had anything other than friendly service from the owner and his staff. A little wait occasionally but then I like to eat here and enjoy a drink along with my food. It is an unpretentious venue with a limited but adequate menu and always has a variety of fresh seafood and meat dishes. The food is very good and my turbot on this occasion was no exception along with the clams and the sardines perfectly grilled. None of your fancy cooking here with silly sauces. Fish bought locally and can vary as being the catch of the day but always well cooked. I have never had a bad experience here. It's a little bit out of the way and be prepared to have the occasional wait but the great location more than makes up for it. Plan for a day out with eating being slotted into your day for a relaxing afternoon in a tranquil setting. Basic but thoroughly enjoyable and I'll keep...

Great view, great prices, good food, accessible beach, friendly and efficient staff. Pinch yourself, you are not dead and not in Paradise. Decor/ comfort is pretty basic but this is a beach cafe, so don't expect fine china and linen. The wine list and prices are reasonable. The food is cooked to order, so if it busy, expect to wait. If you do not want to be disappointed, book a table as you arrive at the beach....but DONT be late and expect it to have been kept for you! Arrive early if you want to park nearby as there are few places and the beach is popular. It is a good beach for SUP, kayak, snorkeling. A selection of wines and beer, but no cocktails and limited after dinner dinner drinks such as a drinkable quality brandy. Plenty of icecreams but limited dessert selection. Closed Tuesday.

Tried Sebastiao on the Ingrina beach (for the beach please see seperate review). Location is great, food on par and service a joke..... We had to wait forever to get the staffs attention to order. We ordered grilled sardines and mixed toast. Food was on par, did the job but nothing to write home about. For being located on the beach, pricing is fine. I can recommend this restaurant if you here (because its nowhere else to go for a meal!) but its of course not a destination restaurant worth the extra mile.

This restaurant was a recommendation from a local from Salema. We had high expectations, but we were disappointed. The food she mentioned was not on the menu and rather than packed and difficult to get a table, there were many tables available. Maybe the place has a new owner? The calamari’s were very soggy, the grilled fish was so-so and the burgers and hotdog very dry. The service was also very slow. The view was great though.
