Very disappointing. We ordered Bacalhau a Zé do Pipo for the main course which is a signature Portuguese dish and we were served, well, a ridiculously small tapa of cod fish. It had literally 2 soup spoons of mashed potatoes. I tried to stay positive and thought, well, this is the smallest portion I have ever seen of Bacalhau a Zé do Pipo but maybe it will be the best I have ever had. That hope was short lived, because the moment I tasted the mayonnaise over the cod fish it tasted to industrial mayonnaise of the worst kind. I honestly can't understand a cook/chef that lives in the region with arguably the best olive oils in the country and could do an excellent mayonnaise in 2 mins with olive one egg and a blender and instead chooses to use the cheap, chemical flavoured one and ruin a landmark dish. My partner had a burger which okay. It was well presented but the party was pretty flavourless, again probably a 50 cents frozen patty from Intermarché or Lidl. A positive note for the staff that was nice and cared to listen to my feedback and promised to convey the message to the management and kitchen. The restaurant unfortunately did not live to the expectations. Prices were on the high side and would be okay if the food was special, but not for the cheap and low quality ingredients and careless cooking at least on the meals we...
Read moreAt the first I was not comfortable with the menu outside and the "turistic" feel it gave to me. It looked like something for the turists and not portuguese food. I was wrong. It was a very good and tasty experience. We ate "plumas with migas", Bacalhau à Zé do Pipo, Secretos and veal, all amazing! So tasty and full of portugal! The wine was good too and the starters....very good. We just found the TiMaria dessert to sweet and the portion was so big that we did not finish. The owner (i think) is really kind and welcoming and the staff is kind. I'm coming...
