Well I should start by saying that I will try my best to provide fair reviews as possible (SO EXPECT THIS REVIEW AS A LONG ONE.) so to brighten up the mood let's start with ...
Location:
Location was not hard to find by I can say it's not that easy to go to. It's located in an area where in public transportation such as buses will not reach the area. (As far as I observed and I could be wrong) But do not worry as the pin location of the map is accurate.
As we arrived there, I can definitely say that it's a new place and I could say every time you arrive there such as lunch or dinner time, chances are it will be busy and tables for big groups will have to wait for 10 to 20 minutes. (As we did when we arrived at dinner time Sunday groups of 5 adults and 2 babies.)
First impression of the place was that the area is small. Estimate is that it can cater 70 to 80 people max eating at the same time. So I feel like we were in some random Bakala. However, if you come to think of it, the business has just started and it's normal to have it small at first.
Food:
As you can see in the photos, the set was what we call in the Philippines "Boodle Fight" setting originated from the Philippine Military as where the food is just plated in a table size space without plates. So I guess that's the big reason majority of the customers are Filipinos. (Yes, all packed groups of them). You will have to head using your hands that is wrapped with plastic gloves. (So if you are not into this kind of setting then this place is not for you.)
It may look not well plated but the food was surprisingly good. Probably of the special sauce that they poor in all the mixed sea food. See mixed of Shrimp, calamaris, Clamps and Crab was in it and the sauce's flavor carried them all. ( I think we chose the Cajun sauce as I was not the one who ordered.)
Slight problem was that when we ordered the calamaris small squid, the texture was a bit hard to bite than a usual.
Price is affordable given that it is Located in Qatar and 150 QAR serving is already good for 5 adults.
The setting and decorations can be improved as I would say however, as a starting business, it's understandable. Staff was accommodating and was not rude despite of how busy it was and was happy to take our pictures.
All in all points would be this:
Pros:
Affordable well placed restaurant with good food and drinks. Accommodating staff and a unique and fun dinning experience.
Cons:
Location is a little hard to find. Space is limited thus, you have to wait for other guest to finish if you are a group of 5. It may be difficult for people who are used to eat with spoon and fork as you can see you have to eat with your hands.
There's obviously rooms for improvement so I can give 5 star and hoping that they can move to a bigger place as it is really a hit specially to Filipino...
Read moreIf I can rate 0 star I would do it. I need to share my honest experience about this restaurant, we were really happy that we found good seafood restaurant near to us. When we consider pictures we expected wonderful food and service. Unfortunately our first impression was really disrespectful, staff didn't greet us.once we seated there we decided to order food then on lady came to our table She is philipino lady she didn't even smile with us not a pleasant at all they way she talk was really rude then I aksde her to explain about the menu since we there for the first time. She didn't even look at me her voice was very high and she act like that we eating by her money. Still I decided to ignore her attitude and take our dinner there. Then I asked her we need little bit spicy then she asked me" what you want extra spicy?? " in rude way then my patience level went down ,, we were very hungry and went to eat some nice food after our hectic working week but didn't expect something like this. Totally disagreed with her attitude towards customers. Then my self and husband decide to leave the restaurant. I told her we don't want meal the way you treat us really disrespectful, then she asked " ok I will cancel order " she didn't even apologise at us. This is not what we expect when we come to restaurant. I'm also working in hospitality we never treat people this way specially when it's come to food I'm really upset about this service and look forward to talk to any...
Read moreWe found the place accidentally after watching a movie, observed that a lot of people lined up so we give it a try. We ordered mussels with Jalapeno and garlic sauce, daing na bangus and inihaw na pusit. The good - The jalapeno garlic sauce is nice. All item in the menu is serve in "boodle fight" style (no plates/utensils). My son like the idea of eating using only our fingers and he enjoy the experience. All items in the menu comes with unlimited rice! Good for big groups. There 4 celebrants greeted by the staffs during our stay, this brings a happy atmosphere. Regarding our order, both mussels and squid is dry and tough. Mussles are not fresh and over cooked. Shells are big but the meat is dry and shrunk too much. Same with the squid is very very tough and salty. They serve 4 heads and 4 very small body parts. Our experience with the mussles and squid is not pleasant and palatable.
The staff arr friendly but does not care if we enjoy the food or not. Did not bother to ask how was the food they serve. We did not give feedback as no one shows interest. We just paid our orders and flea the place disappointed.
Seafood should be served fresh and cook the right way which is missing...
