Disappointing Home Delivery Experience. Inconsistent Food and Unprofessional Service

Review: I recently had a highly disappointing experience at Bahay Kubo Restaurant. Despite my initial excitement to try out their menu, my overall experience left a lot to be desired. From the wrong delivery of Lumpia Shanghai to the inconsistency in taste of the mushroom vegetable soup, combined with the rudeness of the person accepting the order over the phone, this restaurant failed to meet even the most basic expectations.

Firstly, the wrong delivery of Lumpia Shanghai was a major letdown. Instead of receiving the dish I ordered, I was presented with a completely different item (DYNAMITE LUMPIA). Although they promised to deliver the correct order next time, I was surprised to find that I was still charged for the incorrect order. This demonstrates a lack of accountability on the part of the restaurant and a disregard for customer satisfaction.

Furthermore, the Sweet Corn Vegetable soup's inconsistency in taste was noticeable and concerning. On one occasion, the soup had a rich and flavorful profile, but on another, it tasted bland and lacked any depth of flavor. It is unacceptable for a restaurant to have such a stark inconsistency in the quality of their dishes, as it undermines their credibility and leaves customers feeling disappointed.

Moreover, the rudeness exhibited by the individual who took my order over the phone was completely uncalled for. A restaurant's staff should always strive to provide friendly and attentive customer service. Unfortunately, this particular individual was anything but helpful or polite. Their dismissive and unprofessional attitude only further added to my negative experience.

Overall, I cannot recommend Bahay Kubo Restaurant based on my recent encounter. The wrong delivery of food, inconsistency in taste, and the rude behavior of the person taking my order were all significant disappointments. Customers should be able to rely on a restaurant for both quality food and excellent service, but sadly, this establishment failed to deliver on both fronts. I ordered Lumpiang Sariwa, Chopseuy and Ginatang Manok with Papaya via Deliveroo.

Additional update from a different order. I ordered Sinigang na Baka and Mechado.

It did arrived early. Kudos.

Lumpiang Sariwa. The filling is not authentic Lumpiang Sariwa. Its more of like the "recados" of pansit then wrapped with fresh lumpia wrapper. Kinda cheating.

Chopseuy. Its very creamy. The taste, its ok, its not bad, but not good either. I wish they could have added some liver and quail eggs. Its not 18 Riyals. Not worth the price.

Ginatang Manok with Papaya. The name should have been, Ginataang Papaya with Manok. They gave me, the knuckle part of the leg, meaning without the drumstick, only the stick, and a portion of breast. You pay 18 Riyals for that. Oh my goodnesss. The taste is very creamy, to the point to just stop eating eating it coz its just not balance. I need to eat some tangy condiments just to neutralize the "Umay". Its not 18 riyals. Its not worth the price.

Sinigang na Baka. Its good. It tasted what you expect in a Sinigang na Baka but it lacks the beefy flavor which made me think that the sinigang soup is pre made for all Sinigang. And then the meat is boiled separately.

Mechado. Its not Mechado to be honest. I didn't taste any tomato. Its more of stir fry beef with sweet cornstarch slurry. The taste is super far from a legit mechado.

Overall, the foods are below the standard of pinoy cuisine taste. And im just talking the home cooked taste, not the especial high end or mid end restaurant in the PH. Its not worth trying again. For the same price, you can try the other...

Great food, great Service and good value for money.

It was our first time trying out Phillipino food here in Doha and it was the nice cozy decor that attracted us into the venue at first. The bamboo design is incorporated everywhere and sends a clear traditional village vibe. The waitress was really nice and only happy to explain the menu to us. The menu itself had some pictures, but lack description for people unfamiliar with the cuisine. We ended up choosing their Sissig, special fried rice and noodles with chicken. The food tasted good but their Sissig was an absolute stand out. The waitress told me it was their best seller and I could see why. The bill came to 60QR.
