Habat Raih in Old Souq Wakrah is a standout destination for anyone seeking a blend of good food, excellent service, and a remarkable seaside vibe. This restaurant is a hidden gem that offers an experience beyond just dining. Situated right by the beach, the ambiance is soothing and refreshing, with the gentle sea breeze adding to the charm. Whether you’re visiting during the day or enjoying a dinner under the stars, the setting perfectly complements the flavors served on your plate.
The Arabic grill food combos here are arguably the best you’ll find in the Old Souq area. Priced reasonably at 125 QAR, the portions are large enough to serve a group of 4-5 people, making it an excellent choice for families or friends. While the taste is generally satisfying, there’s room for improvement. The selection of meat and seasoning needs a bit more attention to achieve an authentic Arabic flavor. For those with a keen palate, the difference in quality can be noticeable, and it’s an area where management could invest to further enhance their offerings.
The service at Habat Raih is where the restaurant truly shines. Plates are served hot, and the staff ensures you feel welcomed and cared for. Special mention goes to Ms. Radwa, who epitomizes Arab hospitality. Her warm demeanor and attention to detail elevate the dining experience, leaving a lasting impression. The staff’s excellent attitude extends to the relaxed pace they offer diners; there’s no rush to vacate your table once you’ve finished your meal, allowing you to savor the moment.
The restaurant also excels in creating an inviting outdoor space. With a large TV screening sports events and Arabic music playing in the background, the vibe is lively yet comfortable. During winter, portable fires are provided, ensuring you stay warm and relaxed while enjoying the stunning beach view. Although the absence of live shows during my visit was noticeable, the overall atmosphere more than made up for it.
One of the highlights of Habat Raih is its affordability without compromising on experience. The tea pots, priced at just 5 QAR, are a delightful touch, adding value to your meal. Its proximity to a metro bus stop makes it accessible, further cementing its reputation as a must-visit spot in Souq Wakrah.
That said, there is one notable area for improvement: the quality of food materials. For a restaurant that excels in ambiance and service, the use of higher-quality ingredients would enhance the dining experience and align better with the expectations of discerning guests.
Despite this, Habat Raih remains a place I’d visit again, primarily for the impeccable service and delightful ambiance. It’s a fantastic spot to gather with family and friends, offering a memorable outing without breaking the bank. With a little attention to food quality, this restaurant has the potential to become a premier dining destination in Old...

Cheese Zatar pie 5/5 The cheese and Zatar go so well. Who would've thought! A must try. Highly recommended!
Laban 3.5/5 Refreshing drink. But nothing beats an Indian lassi/chach. Still, a good drink with your meal.
Seabass 4/5 Well cooked fresh sea bass. They give portion of fries with it.
BBQ skewers 5/5 Try their BBQ skewers. I only tried one meat and one chicken. Both were delicious.
This order came with a large bread (amazing!), flavoured rice and three sauce/dips (garlic mayo, tomato and spiced yogurt)
This Syrian restuarant offers a lot of variety. The service was also good. Do check this out!

Read moreWe ordered the mango juice which was way too thick. We also got the tea pot which says 5 riyal on the menu but it's actually 10 riyal. They used normal tea bags but they also put fresh mint leaves in it which I didn't particularly like. We ordered their falafel and hummus with meat which was absolutely delicious and great for the price. Their hummus with meat shows as 32 riyal on the menu, but it's actually 20 riyal. We really enjoyed it. They also gave us a hot bread with the falafel and a tahini dip. The atmosphere is nice, this restaurant is at the very end of the beach. I'll definitely be going back here again. Their food is great and their prices are...
