Although it looks quite mainstream, I have to give it 4.5 stars because it's indeed the best in the area. We ate there several times, all 3 meals and the service was always great. Monday night, after going to 3 other restaurants that closed before closing time because "they didn't have clients for hours", we've tried our luck once again at Ancuța, as it was 1h before closing time. It was opened and had our dinner. With the food, it can be great or underwhelming, depending on what you order. Pomana porcului was excellent, hot and delicious, not greasy and the pickles were perfect. Papanașii are indeed the best in Bușteni. The portion is really big, so unless you are very hungry, split one with a friend. I usually chose the sour cherry jam. To my disappointment, it was mostly jelly/very little fruits but decent taste. Next time we chose blueberries and it was way better! The beans soup was delicious and didn't need any taste adjustment. Breakfast with sunny eggs, sausage, fries and tomatoes "salad" with cheese was good. It's actually just a cut tomato without any dressing or seasoning. Overall it was good! Palinca is great. Tonight I ate tripe soup.. Or tried to. If a foreign tourist would serve it, he probably wouldn't eat it because it's blant to say the least. I know how to cook it, so after a few adjustments with sourcream, salt and vinegar, I've made it somewhat edible... Still left half in the bowl, even if I was still hungry. After so many good experiences, I left really sad. Also, please change that vinegar! I recommend it because it's one of the best restaurants here but they can surely improve...
Read moreVery varied menu with lots of dishes to choose from! Very friendly staff who are ready to welcome you in at any time. They give you enough time to decide what to eat and they don't disturb you until you've made your choice. The serving is really fast and professional, why professional? Let's say that 2 people order soups, a second meal and a desert, and the other person doesn't order any soup, only a second meal such as Chicken or Pork Meat with Potatoes, they only start preparing the next meal when the first one is finished, so the food is always fresh when you serve it, it's never heated in the oven or anything like that, even the desert starts being prepared only after you finish your meal, the pricing isn't bad either, an average of 50 ron per person, or about 10 euro. So in my opinion, this place couldn't get any better, it looks really good and, to be honest, this is the best place in Busteni for a meal. The food / meals at the Alexandros Hotel for example doesn't even come close to how good the food is at this place, you can also try Casa Țărăneasca, that place also has amazing food, and it is closer to the Railway Station, and it has tons of Romanian Dishes to choose from, these two are the best restaurants here. Huge congrats to the...
Read moreI have been always coming here since I was 22 ( so more than 15 years) and it has never disappointed me: not by food, by hospitality or atmosphere.
Mouth pleasing dishes and refreshing drinks were at it's best. Perfect service from the kind stuff (they do speak English as well, I don't know for the German language).
A small funny thing, me and my friends we are not saying Casa Ancuței (Ancuța's house) but Hanu' Ancuței (Ancuța's Inn) because we always confuse with a title of a book with the same name by the renown Romanian writer Mihail Sadoveanu. A very lovely book just great to be read as you go to Bușteni city.
As I arrived over there, there was plenty of parking space, but you have to be careful because it's a national road going there (of course with speed limit, but still) and you have to wait a bit until you get in and out from the parking space. But on foot is the best!
Over there (might sound trivial) but I ate the best omelette ever (in a dining space). So strongly recommend. Also the beans soup in bread... Speechless! Just eat! You cannot talk and eat in the same time while serving this! It's just too delicious here, at this place!
Enjoy your stay over there! Don't...
