⚠️ Honest Review: Lakeside — Not All That Glitters Is Gold ⚠️

Guys, we showed up at this place called Lakeside, and yes, it really is right by the lake. The view was absolutely stunning. The environment was beautiful, calm, and full of happy faces. For a moment, we thought we had found a gem in Rwanda.

But then came the reality check.

We got cheated, plain and simple. And what made it worse, the so-called managers (two guys with accents from Eritrea) stood by their dishonest staff like nothing was wrong. Imagine that. We ordered a drink, were told it costs 40,000 RWF, and when the bill came, suddenly it was 50,000 RWF, brought by a completely different waiter who had not even served us. When we questioned it, the managers did not care. They did not even try to find out who made the mistake or why the prices changed. Instead, they defended the nonsense.

That is not hospitality, that is fraud with a smile.

The service of the staff was not cool at all. Their attitude was even worse, especially since they do not even know you. They acted like they were doing us a favor. In a place like this, they should treat all clients equally, whether they know you or not.

So, if you ever find yourself at Lakeside, be smart: • Make sure one waiter serves you from start to finish. • Double-check your menu and your bill. • Do not let their friendly faces fool you.

Because what we saw was not just poor service, it was a complete lack of integrity. For that reason alone, I would not recommend this place to anyone...

Order food only if you want it to be served in 3 hours time. It is normal in Africa to arrive food in 45-50 mins but this one is way too much slow. Ordered chicken wings, mushroom soup and a glass of fresh juice and my friends had ordered other foods at around 12:30 PM when the only customers were us and a few others. The juice did not arrive even after an hour. When inquired, I was told they have sent the person to buy fruit from the market. Finally the fruits came and the juice was there in around 1.5 hours. Chicken wings took 2.5 hrs to arrive. The waitress never brought the Mushroom soup so had to cancel it. The worst part was when it was time to pay.
