I cannot believe this place has ANY good reviews!! The 1st thing was the awful perfume when we stepped into the room, it was sprayed so heavily that we immediately got a headache and even though we opened both windows (in the room and bathroom) wide and left the room for more than an hour, it still smelled of the perfume that was sprayed to obviously cover up some other smell.. We later found out it was the smell of mold which we found in the bathroom (and quite a lot of it 😳) and the fact that the cleaning ladies smoke as they clean 🙄.. It was too late to change the room when we saw the mold in the middle of the night so we barely slept, but the next morning when we asked for a different room, the receptionist was quite annoyed & unpleasant.. She said only the “deluxe” rooms are available and then gave us a key reluctantly.. the deluxe room was a bit bigger and so was the bathroom which still had a bit of mold in the shower, but the furniture was older than the previous room and there was nothing “deluxe” about it.. when I told her there’s also a bit of mold in this one, she replied “all of our rooms have a little mold in them”!!? 😳🤯 I asked if the owner knows and she said yes and I asked if he doesn’t care considering this is a HEALTH HAZARD ☣️ for his customers and employees but then she got even more unpleasant and threw the heavy key in the little key compartment with force.. 😳 And if that’s not enough, they actually charged us more for the “deluxe” room! Even though we changed it because of a HEALTH HAZARD! And the man who was working didn’t know enough English for us to explain to him why that is unfair so we budged and payed the higher rate.. I have never experienced anything like this in any other accommodation ever.. horrible! But if you are bot worried about the safety issues of breathing in mold spores and the effects it has on your health, there’s more.. the cleaning ladies put on loud party music (bad dance covers of famous songs) on the TVs while they clean and open the door so the music is blasted through the whole floor and you cannot sleep (they start this routine before 8am every morning while smoking heavily as well).. we stayed for 2 nights and this happened both mornings so if you want to catch up on some sleep you can forget about it.. 😤🙄 They also come to clean inside the rooms during your stay and touch and move your stuff around 🫣 I wouldn’t recommend this “hotel” to anyone considering they know they are harming people’s health and don’t even care about it.. the rest just makes...
Read moreI stayed here for a couple of days to visit the historical centre of San Marino, and do a bit of hiking and mountainbiking in the area. ||||As someone who doesn't own a car, it was very convenient for me that the bus stop is just 50 meters away from the hotel. The hotel itself was clean, breakfast was fine and there was enough room for social distancing and plenty of hand gel dispensers. ||||The lady at reception was very friendly, but could not answer most of my questions about public transportation and bike rental (although she had a brochure for the bike rental service). I guess I was just an atypical guest.||||What I hadn't realised upon booking, was that this is a hotel that allows pets. The guest in the room next to me left her dog alone in the room for hours at a time, so I spent two evenings listening to the constant yapping of a little dog. ||||My corner room had a view of the sea on one side and of Monte Titano on the other side. That was very nice. You cannot escape the noise of the road, but that did not bother me too much.||||For a hotel in this price range, it was cleaner than I had expected, which was very nice, although there was a sewage smell in the bathroom that seemed impossible to get rid of. It seemed that the smoke alarm was taped over, which I didn't like, so next time I should remember to bring my own smoke detector, at least.||||The pizzeria downstairs is very good, with very friendly staff. It only opens at 19h, so you cannot really sit down for aperitivo in the afternoon. The sushi place next to it is quite nice and also does takeaway.||||The hotel is a 45 minute walk from the cable car to the city, but it's not super safe because you have to cross a busy road in the dark. For the hikes that I wanted to do, the central location was...
