A Taste of Tranquil Thai Heaven in Riyadh: Azian Huaz Delivers!
If you're searching for an authentic, cozy Thai escape amidst the bustle of Riyadh, look no further than Azian Huaz. This charming little nook truly lives up to its promise of tranquility, offering a warm, inviting atmosphere perfect for a relaxing gourmet meal.
From the moment we stepped in, the warm and friendly service set the tone. The staff were attentive and genuinely welcoming, making us feel right at home.
Now, the food – where do I begin? The mango salad was the perfect start – fresh, vibrant, and absolutely yummy. But the true showstopper for me was the chicken satay. As someone who hails from the land of satay (Singapore and Malaysia), my standards are sky-high. Azian Huaz didn't just meet them; they soared above! This was, hands down, the best chicken satay I've ever had. The chicken was incredibly succulent and juicy, perfectly grilled with that irresistible smoky char, and the peanut sauce was divine. A masterpiece!
The pad sew followed suit, delivering classic comfort with its well-balanced flavours and satisfying texture – simply nice and delicious noodles.
Then the Tom Yum seafood soup was a slight departure from our expectations (we found it a bit diluted and watery, lacking the intense spicy kick and vibrant red hue we crave), it was a minor note in an otherwise symphony of flavours.
And then came the grand finale: the mango sticky rice. Oh. My. Goodness. This dessert is worth dying for! The sticky rice was perfectly warm and gooey, clinging lovingly to the slices of incredibly sweet, fragrant Thai mango. It was pure bliss, the absolute perfect culmination to our wonderful dinner. This alone is worth coming back for.
Overall, Azian Huaz is a gem. It offers a serene ambiance, exceptional service, and truly gourmet Thai food with several standout dishes (that satay! that mango sticky rice!) that are unforgettable. A little oasis of Thai deliciousness!

Read moreWow! What a meal. Located right off the highway next to a gas station, this unassuming restaurant packs quite a pleasant surprise for Thai food lovers. Staff were quick and courteous, the restaurant was extremely clean, the menu offers something for everyone, and the food was simply delicious. I tried the papaya salad, pad Thai, black pepper chicken, Tom yum soup, shrimp cakes, bbq chicken (Filipino style) and mango sticky rice for dessert. Everything was prepared beautifully, the flavors were on point, and I left completely satisfied (albeit super stuffed). This was honestly the best Thai food I've personally had in Saudi in the 12 years I've lived here. Oh, and to top it all off, prices are very reasonable.
UPDATE: So, I had to update my original review since first coming here as I ate here an additional 4 times in the span of 10 days. Definitely keeping the 5 ⭐ rating, as I tried all of the items offered on the Thai menu and was always pleasantly surprised. Simply delicious!! I always meant to take pictures, but would start eating as soon as the food arrived every time.
Although everything I ate was great, for me, highlights were the black pepper chicken, beef satay, Tom yum, and mango sticky rice. Can't wait for my next trip to Riyadh.
UPDATE #2 (02/22/23) Came back after about 6 months, this time with my family. Can confirm that all the Thai dishes we got were just as delicious as when I first tried this place for my original review. Restaurant is super clean. Everything was so good. Definitely keeping my...
Read moreI was happily surprised by this place
Don't be turned off that it's in a petrol station, just go in and enjoy some great thai food
Tom yum soup was superb
Stir fried seafood curry was delicious but lacked some salt, i also would have preferred a different selection of seafood than the one in the soup, as in bigger shrimps or some fish, but it was only crab, calamari and small shrimp
Chicken satay, absolutely loved them, so tender and tasty
Egg fried rice was really good but i would have wanted spring onions in it, also the rice was freshly made and not cold dry leftover rice, so the grains weren't separated
Sticky rice mango pudding was awesome but the coconut milk was a bit too salty, yet i devoured the plate
I would love to see the menu expand, some tempura shrimps or also maybe they'll add my favorite thai dish, glass noodles baked with shrimps (Goong Ob Woonsen) or Massaman Curry
Portion are big and the prices are great! I also loved the service and the friendly waiters, the manager also came to greet me and ask about the food
Best of luck and I'll definitely visit again!
