La Playa Beach Twina — Restaurant in Makkah Region

I recently visited and had some good experiences, but there were definitely a few issues.

First, the beach and swimming areas were clean, which I really liked. However, there were a lot of loud, young guys, mostly teens, running around. They were smoking regular cigarettes, and being super noisy, throwing cigarette in the sand. Honestly, it was really annoying. They should enforce no smoking in the relaxation areas and perhaps limit entry to people over 25 to keep it more peaceful.

As for my booking, I reserved for Wednesday, but it was canceled and I was told the resort was full. They moved my reservation to the next day, which was fine, but when I got there, I was expecting an open buffet breakfast like they had told me. Instead, they served me breakfast at my table. They explained it was because of fewer guests, but that’s not what I had signed up for. The food wasn’t what I wanted, and if I had known, I would’ve booked entry without breakfast. It felt like a bit of a scam.

Another issue was the pier. I was stopped for not wearing a tshirt, which I respect, but later I noticed tons of guys walking shirtless without being stopped. I asked staff about it, and they just acted like they didn’t see anything. That was frustrating.
