The food was good. We tried the Perri Perri pizza. Not happy with the service. The day we visited the restaurant,I would say it was a quiet lunch time as it's weekday. I saw 3 staff on floor, yes they were busy with other customers 1st, which I totally understand and we took our time to look through the menu. I thought someone would approach us when they were available but no one did that. I noticed the staff members just looked at us and didn't bother telling us anything. They could have just told us to give them 5 mins or something. Then I noticed 2 staff members started clearing the tables of customers who had just left. To me this looked like they just decided to ignore us. I would have understood if there was a customer waiting to sit at the table but no, there were plenty of empty clean tables around for customers to come in and dine. I told myself if no one cares to take down our order soon then we will just leave and go to the restaurant next door. Finally 1 staff looked at my face and asked the female staff who was works at the juice bar to take our order. She was nice, she took our order and it's all good. Now once we finished eating and paid our bill, my family member went to get ice cream from the ice cream bar and I had to give attention to my child, I knew they were clearing our table, I thought they will take the empty plates as we still have our belongings here. No, they took the empty plates and the drinking glasses. My family member comes back with the ice cream and was shocked as we still wanted to get 1 more refill of drinks before we leave. I honestly feel like they only like to clean tables. My feedback is, maybe traine the staff to prioritize the waiting customers 1st and communicate with the customers. I'm pretty sure they are not hired to only clean tables. If they are, then give them a different uniform.
Entering the restaurant with a child stroller was not easy. They could have opened the other door for easy access to restaurant but instead there was a notice advising customers to use the front door. There's a walkway through the building but the cleaner there told us not to enter, I don't know why he did that and what was...
Read moreUmmm not really sure what went wrong there but this restaurant used to be my absolute favourite. The staff used to be super sweet and the atmosphere was amazing and just relaxing. It used to be everything that you’d expect from a restaurant and more, however, ever since they started employing Saudi women the whole thing just went downhill. Now don’t get me wrong I’m all for employing women, but my issue here is that these women were not trained (and the men don’t care about the restaurant anymore either). I’ll walk in to her being on her phone and that should NOT be the first thing that I see when I enter a restaurant. I work in customer service so I know how easy it is to literally just smile and be helpful for two seconds. When I walk in EVERY TIME I feel like I’m interrupting her and that I should be apologizing when in reality I should not. Another thing that I liked that went downhill was the atmosphere. It used to be so nice and peaceful, but now there’s either flies or mosquitoes which literally has never happened to me before. What kind of restaurant has flies? How am I supposed to eat when I’m busing shooing the flies away from my food. The staff used to be so sweet and helpful and it’s sad to see that they’re like this now. These are be only two things that need to be taken care of (staff and environment). Other than that the foods good, nothing too special though it’s just regular Italian but it’s good. If you don’t want to spend too much then I suggest going when they have their lunch deals (for AlShaya card members only I’m pretty sure) or you could just eat gelato, their gelato is really only thing...
Read morePiatto is an all-time favourite restaurant, and they recently renovated the interiors, which makes it more appealing now.
They have really good lunch offers and dinner offers if you have their loyalty sufra app installed, which i recommend !
Going to the food, we tried the lunch offer, and it starts from 53 riyals, which include unlimted soup, salad, garlic bread, and soft drinks, last but not the least, 1 scoop of gelato
We tried the Spagetti with meat balls and chickan romano & kids had chicken tendors with french fries.
The soup and salad were fresh and refilled attentively. The garlic bread, however, was plain and cold, so that was the only thing with a negative remark.
The food was hot and tasted scrumptious, the spagetti was not overcooked, and the sauce was packed with flavours. Equally good was the Chiken Romano.
Also, my other favourites include peri peri chicken pizza and the lamb shank (which i think has been discontinued). If you have never tried Piatto, give it a try and make sure to check the dinner offers over the weekdays, which are surely bang for buck!
The service can be slow when it is full house other than its a perfect place with out door seating when the...
