First time to ever visit, saw the place on GoogleMaps and Instagram, was very eager to try their food, especially as a foodie who’s tried countless breakfast/brunch places in Jeddah. My brother in-law also happened to be in town for a visit, so I thought I’d treat him to a nice brekkie at a new, ‘impressive’ cool spot. Little did I know that I was going to be extremely embarrassed and disappointed.
We were literally kicked out (on Wednesday, May 4th @ 9:30AM sharp). Reason as per the waiter: “Sorry, we can’t accommodate you”. There were 3 empty tables, all of which were reserved for 10AM. Mind you, NOWHERE on their Instagram or GoogleMaps do they explicitly say “RESERVATIONS ONLY / NO WALK-INS”. Not even at the door outside. Plain ridiculous.
The lady supervisor didn’t even have the decency or professionalism to come speak to us directly and at least show some basic “Hospitality 101” effort in helping us find a middle-ground solution to make sure we still had that breakfast we were so evidently excited about. We could’ve ordered and eaten in 30mins and bounced right away. We even told them that we had no plans of lingering around, so we’ll make it quick and leave by 10AM; we’ll even order the fastest/readiest items on the menu. Nada. Zero cooperation, zero professionalism, zero sense of hospitality, and zero concern for winning over two new happy customers.

Read moreI recently visited The Morning Call for brunch, and while it had a cozy atmosphere and friendly service, the food was a bit of a mixed bag.
We started with some savory options — the eggs were nicely done, perfectly cooked with a soft, flavorful texture that hit the spot. The grilled cheese, however, felt underwhelming. It wasn’t bad, just lacking the crispiness or rich cheese blend that would make it memorable.
On the sweet side, the pancake unfortunately missed the mark — it was a bit dry and didn’t have the fluffiness or flavor I was hoping for. The French toast, on the other hand, was enjoyable, though it leaned more toward a sweet bread pudding than a traditional French toast. Still tasty, just not quite what you’d expect if you’re craving the classic version.
Overall, The Morning Call shows promise with its savory selections, but a few tweaks to the sweet dishes could really elevate the experience. Worth a visit if you’re in the area — just manage your expectations...

The service is top-notch, efficient, and always with a smile. The vibes are cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal or a casual hangout.
The food quality is outstanding, with fresh ingredients and expertly prepared dishes. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave satisfied. I highly recommend trying the Khachapuri—it's a delicious cheese-filled bread that's simply irresistible. The Tartine is another must-try, offering a delightful combination of flavors on a perfectly toasted slice of sourdough. Don't miss out on the classic scones; they are buttery, flaky, and a perfect treat. Lastly, the smoked shakshuka is a standout dish with rich, smoky flavors that will leave you craving more.
Overall, The Morning Call is a fantastic place for a meal, and I can't...
