Twina Seafood — Restaurant in Makkah Region

I love this concept!!! We came on the recommendation of someone we had just more recently met, so I was a little apprehensive. You step into a specific area that has a load of fish and sea critters on ice, they bring out a bus tub and let you choose your items. Originally the gent that was there gloved up and got ready to help so I had to double check that I was allowed to do it myself. It was just the two of us so I grabbed a lobster, a crab, three fistfuls of the shrimp and 8 squid. They asked us how we wanted it all cooked off (I had hoped for a sous vide situation but alas) fried or grilled so we sent the shrimp and squid to be fried and lobster and crab for grilling. I hadn't heard if the gent mentioned that the fried items would be battered, but I was super grateful that they were when they hit the table. As soon as you arrive, there is coffee available in the seating area as well as they have a lovely patio you can go out to smoke and eat dessert on which is mildly enclosed and it stays a little warmer. This location was on Prince Sultan Rd. The atmosphere was welcoming, the customer service was good but the food was disappointing. The soup was unacceptable with broken crab shell, we had to bring this issue to the waiters attention and it took a while for him to exchange our soup. Sadly it was worst! It wasn’t creamy at all. It was like water and no flavor. The Lobster was salty and bland. The calamari and shrimp were oily. We had no choice but to continue our meal. Will we come back to this location, absolutely NOT we will however go to the one on Sari street. Glad we stopped by to review this restaurant. Best of luck! I don’t recommend this restaurant for special occasions. I had a really bad experience although we arranged everything well with the restaurant. The table that was booked for 10 people was not prepared before arrival as discussed. The AC was very bad and Jeddah was hot that day. We brought the cake and the flowers and we arranged for it to be a surprise for my sister by having a song played and the staff coming to sing along. We arranged everything I swear. And suddenly one guy bring the cake and toss it on the table like a tissue what?! It was very embarrassing!!!! Everything was ruined and what was their EXCUSE?!!
